The Sussexes are having a tough couple of weeks, and it looks like Meghan might have to resort to drastic measures to save face.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have had a tough couple of weeks.

Spotify has canned them and they are now plagued by rumours that Netflix is about to give them the flick. Millions of dollars are on the line.

It’s enough to have Meghan shivering in her 100 per cent cashmere jumper from the stress of it all.

Look, things aren’t too dire, I don’t think we’ll see Meghan working at the local supermarket and arguing with customers over the price of plastic bags just yet.

But she might have to pivot from lazy philanthropist to influencer, and it’s not the stuff dreams are made of.

It is undignified, annoying and something you know Kate would be giggling about from her castle in England.

Let’s be honest and admit that before Meghan met Harry she was just a C-list actress on a good wicket thanks to her role in that popular television show Suits.

The Australian version of that success is nabbing a role on either Home And Away or Neighbours – you might get nominated for a Logie, but the Prime Minister definitely doesn’t know your name.

If she hadn’t met a prince, she’d probably be starring in Hallmark movies and dating some ex-athlete with a knee injury.

Instead, she became the most famous woman in the world.

This would have been fine, even fun, if she’d just embraced being a royal.

She could have spent her life wearing big hats and fighting with her sister-in-law Kate but no, she and Harry decided to ditch the royals, and now they are in strife.

Meghan can’t really return to her average acting career.

So what is there to return to?

She can’t settle for doing a guest spot on Grey’s Anatomy, and realistically, I don’t think Steven Spielberg is knocking on her $14 million door.

So what is she left with?

The natural choice is that she aligns herself with heaps of luxury brands and makes some cold hard cash by being aspirational.

There are rumours circling that she might become the next face of the luxury brand Dior, but will that be enough to support Harry and their two kids?

It’s pretty clear that now Harry’s done whinging about his family, there isn’t much more he can do to drum up finance.

I’m sorry to say that Meghan is going to have to girl-boss her way out of the PR mess that Harry has created.

Meghan’s future requires her to revisit her almost-influencer past. You see, before Meghan met Harry, she was an Instagram girly.

She loved a very obvious filter, a pretend casual pose and she even took photos of herself kissing products.

The woman was one bad day away from wearing cat ears.

It was an era that she’s since scrubbed from the internet because she got fancy and married a prince.

Yet it is an era that she’s going to have to revisit – and with gusto. Someone get this woman a curling wand to spruik ASAP.

So since Harry doesn’t seem to have anything in the pipeline, their financial future might have to rest on Meghan’s shoulders.

And do you know what down-on-their-luck C-list actors do? They morph themselves into influencers. They start pouting, brand endorsing and posting ageless bikini snaps.

Perhaps Harry should consider Uber driving, before Meghan is forced to download an app that makes you pay for Instagram filters.
