Meghan drops ‘secret wedding’ revelation in Oprah interview

Meghan has revealed a significant secret about her and Harry’s royal wedding, just half an hour into their tell-all interview with Oprah.

Meghan dropped a major bombshell about her and Harry’s royal wedding during the couple’s tell-all interview with Oprah.

Meghan revealed she and Harry secretly married three days before their wedding ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

“Three days before our wedding, we got married. No-one knows that,” she said.

“The spectacle was for the world. But we want our union for us.”

Speaking with Oprah, Meghan said the pair were married in a private ceremony in their backyard by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

She said the marriage certificate that hangs in their home has the date of their private ceremony.

The revelation came as Meghan addressed rumours that she made Kate Middleton cry before the wedding.

Meghan denied these claims, saying “the reverse happened” and it was actually Kate that had made her cry.

“A few days before the wedding [Kate] was upset about something, pertaining to … flower girl dresses, and it made me cry. And it really hurt my feelings,” she said.

“What was hard to get over was being blamed for something not only I didn’t do, but happened to me.’

Meghan said Kate apologised to her afterwards and sent her flowers.

“I don’t think it’s fair to go into the details because she apologised and I’ve forgiven her,” she said of the altercation.

“I would hope she would’ve wanted that corrected …. she’s a good person. If you love me you don’t have to hate her, and if you hate me you don’t have to love her.”

Meghan said the media seemed to be pushing the narrative of a “hero and villain” when speaking about her and Kate.

Meghan Markle denied claims she made Kate cry before the wedding.

Earlier in the interview Meghan told Oprah that she was “naive” about what being a working royal meant.

She revealed the mounting pressure of her role pushed her to a “breaking point” where she struggled with suicidal thoughts.

She said she reached a point where she “didn’t want to be alive anymore” but she was denied help from the royal family over fears it would damage their reputation.

“It was all happening just because I was breathing. I was ashamed to admit it at the time, and admit it to Harry because of how much loss he’s suffered, but I knew that I didn’t want to be alive anymore,” she said.

“That was a very real, clear, constant thought. He just cradled me. I went to the institution and said I needed help, and I was told it wouldn’t be good for the institution.”

She said she repeatedly asked for treatment or to go to a hospital for mental health, but he requests were denied.

Meghan described feeling like a captive, explaining her personal belongings like keys and passport all had to be handed over after the wedding.

“It takes so much courage to admit that you need help. It took so much courage to voice that,” she said.

“I didn’t want to put more weight on my husband’s shoulders. He’s already carrying the weight of the world.”
