Lip-readers reveal ‘inside’ jokes Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in interview outtakes

NEW footage has emerged from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first television interview. But what exactly were they saying to each other?

Harry and Meghan's jokes are revealed by lip-readers from the interview outtakes

PRINCE Harry jokingly told off his new fiancee Meghan Markle for interrupting him during their royal engagement interview.

Behind-the-scenes footage showed the loved-up pair mucking around as they mocked each other while filming for the BBC.

Lip-reader Tina Lannin has revealed to The Sun exactly what the newly engaged couple were saying as they laughed and joked with their mics switched off.

During the five minutes of outtakes, Harry appears to be describing the pair’s safari in Botswana last year when Ms Markle cuts in saying: “It was five days, yeah.”

The Prince of Wales turns to his bride-to-be and, referring to BBC journalist Mishal Husain, says “she wants me to say something”.

Ms Markle burst out laughing before saying “sorry” and resting her chin on her fist to teasingly show she is listening her future husband.

Harry then pretends to be angry by slapping his leg and adding “goddammit”.

Despite having no sound, it’s clear to see from Harry and Ms Markle’s beaming smiles they are relaxed and happy in each other’s company.

At one point, Harry is seen pulling a funny face before his new fiancee Ms Markle giggles as they share a private joke.

The American actor looks head over heels for her husband-to-be, as they messed around on set.

Just hours earlier the couple posed for the cameras outside Kensington Palace after announcing their plans to get hitched next year.

The romantic prince proposed with a ring he designed himself, which features three jewels, the centre of which is a diamond from Botswana.

The outside two stones are diamonds from the personal collection of Diana, Princess of Wales.

Yesterday Harry revealed he had no idea who his new fiancee was when a mutual friend set them up on a blind date.

The smitten couple have enjoyed a whirlwind romance since being introduced in summer 2016.

But despite her success in hit TV show Suits, he claimed he had never heard of the American actor before they met.

In their first ever joint interview, Harry told the BBC: “I’d never even heard of her until this friend said ‘Meghan Markle’ — I was like ‘right OK give me a bit of background.’

“I’d never watched any of Suits. I was beautifully surprised when I walked into that room and saw her.

“I thought I’m really gonna have to up my game, sit down and make sure I have good chat.”

Ms Markle explained that Harry’s status didn’t faze her, instead only being interested in his personality.

She said: “I didn’t know much about him, the only thing I had asked her — was ‘is he nice?’ if he wasn’t kind, it didn’t seem like it would make sense.’

“And so we went and met for a drink and then it was like ‘what are we doing tomorrow’. We got the diaries out and find out how we’re going to make this work.

“We said where’s the gap and the gap happened to be the perfect place.”

Despite Ms Markle living in Canada while filming Suits, the lovebirds say they “make it work” and have never been “more than two weeks without seeing each other”.

But the pair will not have to put up with the long distance for much longer, as the actor will move in with her prince in Kensington Palace’s Nottingham Cottage.

Explaining how their romance had blossomed, Harry said: “We met once and then twice, two dates back to back in London, last July.

“Then it was about three maybe four weeks later that I managed to persuade her to come and join me in Botswana and we camped out with each other under the stars for five days.

“Then we were really by ourselves, which was crucial to me to make sure we had a chance to get to know each other.”

Botswana has remained close to the couple’s hearts, as it’s where the couple have enjoyed several holidays together over the past year and a half, Kensington Palace said.
