King Charles makes surprising move in the wake of Ghislaine Maxwell’s claims about Prince Andrew
King Charles has made a surprising move in the wake of Ghislaine Maxwell’s new claims about Prince Andrew.
Disgraced Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson have joined King Charles for his Balmoral summer break — despite new revelations in a tell-all book.
The pair are staying half a mile from the King at seven-bedroom Craigowan Lodge, one of the late Queen Elizabeth’s favourite boltholes and within walking distance of a nine-hole golf course.
Daughters Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 35, and their children are expected to join them later.
It comes after the Duke’s behaviour was panned in Andrew Lownie’s book Entitled — and nine months after he was banned from Christmas at Sandringham amid links to an alleged Chinese spy.

An insider said: “The Balmoral invitation is a huge show of support.”
Prince William and Kate and their three children are also due to attend, along with Prince Edward and wife Sophie and their two kids.
The summer break at the Scottish estate is the only time except at Christmas that the entire Royal Family get together.
Charles and Queen Camilla, there for the next three weeks, will also be visited by PM Sir Keir Starmer next month.
MORE: Wild reason Charles can’t kick Andrew out
Last week, The Sun revealed Andy had the hump with speed bumps being built around his Royal Lodge, in Windsor.
He angrily asked one workman: “What the f*** are you doing now?”
It comes after Ghislaine Maxwell launched an extraordinary attack on claims Prince Andrew had sex with Virginia Giuffre.
In a new interview he tells US government lawyers the allegations are “b******”.
Maxwell also went on the offensive over the infamous photograph of Andrew with his arm around the waist of Giuffre.
She claimed the photo was a “fake” and alleged it was cooked up to make a stronger legal case.
“I believe this whole thing was manufactured,” she said.
