King Charles ‘breathing sigh of relief’ after reports of Harry, Meghan’s U-turn

The King is “breathing a sigh of relief” after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly made a massive change in their behaviour.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s rumoured decision to pull the plug on future high-publicised projects is music to King Charles’ ears, a royal source said — though another said those rumours are highly exaggerated.

The King, who was formally crowned last month, is “breathing a sigh of relief” after the Sussexes were reported to stop publishing tell-alls, engaging in sit-down interviews, and taking part in large-scale documentaries, according to theNew York Post.

“That period of their life is over — as there is nothing left to say,” a source said of the exiled couple’s plan to step away from the limelight.

The Sun’s former royal correspondent Charles Rae also confirmed that Charles welcomes the end of the couple’s media campaign against the family.

“We’ve seen everybody in the Royal Family, whenever Harry is around and Meghan, they’re very, very careful with what they say,” Rae told GB News.

“What they don’t want to happen is for them to end up in some sort of documentary or a book with what they’ve said.”

“And I should imagine that there are various people from the various palaces, including from the King down, must be sitting back in their armchairs today, breathing a sigh of relief,” he went on, adding, “I just hope it stays that way for them.”

However, To Di For Daily podcast host Kinsey Schofield has claimed that “the exploration of Harry’s past is nowhere near done”, saying that a source recently disclosed to her that Harry, 38, is looking into making a documentary about his mom, the late Princess Diana.

Despite Harry and Meghan’s rumoured U-turn, Rae notes that Netflix might not be as happy about the news as Charles is.

“Let’s wait and see if they actually stick to this,” Rae said. “They’re supposedly now going to stop their royal bashing and be behind the cameras at Netflix.”

“I’m pretty sure Netflix won’t be terribly pleased over paying more than 100 million pounds for this couple, just for them to make up little stories or whatever.”

The Sussexes sensationally stepped down as senior members of the royal family in 2021 — a decision that was followed by a permanent move to the US amid their ongoing quest for “privacy.”

Their move sparked several high-publicity projects such as their six-part Netflix documentary, their bombshell sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey, and Harry’s protocol-shattering memoir, Spare.

They’ve since been criticised and ridiculed for their shocking revelations, with the animated sitcom South Park releasing an episode in which a royal couple who resembled the Sussexes were mercilessly mocked.

More recently, the pair’s credibility was thrust into doubt after they claimed to have been involved in a “near catastrophic” paparazzi car chase through Manhattan.
