Kate Middleton shares sweet moment with young girl during garden picnic
Kate Middleton has made fast friends with an adorable little girl during a garden picnic at a London palace.
Kate Middleton has glowed in green as she arrived to host a picnic for kids in her nature garden at Hampton Court Palace in London.
The Duchess of Cambridge beamed as she met with children in her family friendly garden before taking them on a treasure hunt., reports The Sun.
The mum-of-three, who has previously taken her own kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to explore the garden, seemed eager to help the kids go bug spotting. She held one little girl’s hand as they made their way through the outdoor space.
Kate has previously revealed how she hoped the garden would help to highlight the benefits of the natural world to mental and physical wellbeing.
And the 37-year-old, who wore a Sandro Paris dress for the visit, made sure to make the most of her summery day out with her young visitors.
Last week, Kate helped to get the open space ready for the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival.
Her Back to Nature garden first appeared at the Chelsea Flower Show to wide acclaim and was visited by almost 20,000 people. It has been transformed for its new venue close to Henry VIII’s former home.
The garden has some of the features of the original design but is now double the size, and includes new elements to encourage visitors to play and interact with nature.
It includes a hill, a bee-friendly meadow with tall grasses and flowers children can hide in, and a pond where youngsters can paddle.
Children from some of the duchess’s charities were invited to picnic in the garden — with youngsters from the Anna Freud Centre, Evelina Children’s Hospital, Action for Children and Place2Be enjoying themselves in the green space.
Kate has a longstanding interest in the early years development of children and believes spending time outdoors plays a pivotal role in the future health and happiness of youngsters.
In May, the Palace released sweet snaps showing the young Cambridge kids scrambling over rocks and grinning on a swing as they made the most of the duchess’ garden.
And her eldest Prince George rated the garden 20 out of 10 as he played with his siblings.
Kate Middleton had revealed how her own children loved exploring the exhibit, saying they enjoyed paddling in the stream.
The Queen even visited the nature garden at the Chelsea Flower Show.
