Kate Middleton glows in emerald green gown at state dinner in Jamaica
The Duchess of Cambridge was glowing in a showstopping emerald green gown for a state dinner in Jamaica, where she also flashed the Queen’s diamonds.
Kate Middleton is putting on a style spectacle during her royal Caribbean tour – with her latest look among her most glamorous showings yet.
The 40-year-old mother-of-three, who is currently in Jamaica with Prince William, attended a state dinner hosted by the Governor-general of Jamaica at King’s House on Wednesday evening, where she wore a showstopping emerald green ball gown.
The Duchess of Cambridge’s princess-style strapless dress – by famed British designer Jenny Packham – featured a glamorous netted neckline with sparkling embellishments across the bodice, with her colour of choice paying homage to Jamaica’s national flag.

Kate also flashed emerald jewels, including chandelier-style earrings, from the Queen’s own collection, as she styled her hair in a sleek bun.
Despite the glitzy display it proved to be somewhat of an awkward outing for Kate and William, who were called out by Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
The PM was captured on video telling the royals that while Jamaicans were “very, very happy” to welcome them, “there are issues here which are, as you would know, unresolved”, referencing Britain’s history of inflicting slavery.
“Your presence gives an opportunity for those issues to be placed in context, put front and centre, and to be addressed as best as we can,” Mr Holness told William, as the future king silently nodded.
He went on to explain that Jamaica was “moving on” and had “true ambitions” to become an “independent, developed, prosperous country”.
William made a landmark speech at the dinner, in which he expressed his anguish over the UK’s role in “abhorrent” slavery.
“I want to express my profound sorrow. Slavery was abhorrent. And it should never have happened,” William said.
“I strongly agree with my father, the Prince of Wales, who said in Barbados last year that the appalling atrocity of slavery forever stains our history.
“While the pain runs deep, Jamaica continues to forge its future with determination, courage and fortitude. The strength and shared sense of purpose of the Jamaican people, represented in your flag and motto, celebrate an invincible spirit.”
The Cambridge’s are currently on the second leg of their tour of the Caribbean, having visited Belize earlier in the week. They will also tour The Bahamas.
