Kate and Meghan’s Wimbledon visit was a ‘masterful PR exercise’ to stop rift rumours, royal expert

Kate and Meghan put those nagging feud rumours to bed after they were pictured having a great old time at Wimbledon, but a royal expert claims there could be more than meets the eye.

Rumours of a royal rift between Kate and Meghan were finally put to bed over the weekend, when the duchesses took to the royal box at Wimbledon.

But while the pair seemed to be laughing and getting along very nicely, one royal commentator has claimed their appearance was a “masterful PR move” by Kate.

Speaking to the Morning Show in Britain, Angela Mollard said: “Masterful PR exercise, wasn’t it? This has a lot of Kate written all over, she’s sort of seen to take the lead.

“They were both there, they were both enjoying the tennis and they obviously had Kate Middleton’s sister, Pippa, there.

“Meghan was sandwiched between them, there’s a lot of shots of them chatting, laughing.

“Kate’s a kind person, she well brought-up, she’s doing the right thing. If there is any rift, we don’t really know.”

Kate and Meghan’s appearance at Wimbledon comes after rumours of a row between the Sussex and Cambridge families, reports The Sun.

Speculation began when Harry and Meghan left their home within the Kensington Palace estate — where they were living in close proximity to Kate and William — before they welcomed baby Archie.

Rumours emerged that the two brothers reportedly fell out after William’s concerns over Meghan reportedly “went down quite badly” with his brother.

Speaking to Fox News, royal expert Katie Nicholl said: “William was concerned about how quickly the relationship had moved and wanted to make sure that Harry was making the right decision.”

Speaking about their appearance, body language expert Judi James said the occasion provided Kate with the opportunity to act as “hostess” to Meghan, making an active attempt to include her in conversation.

Speaking to Fabulous Digital she said: “Sitting Meghan in between Kate and Pippa looks like a very active attempt to both host her and include her in a way that hasn’t quite occurred since she married Harry.

“There is a lot of eye contact between the sisters-in-laws here, too, which, along with the laughter, should be seen as a sign they want to be seen as friendly together.”
