Being friends with a duchess comes with some serious perks.

Meghan Markle, 37, gifted friends who attended her New York City baby shower on February 20 with a bag full of freebies, according to People.

Guests like Serena Williams and Amal Clooney were bestowed with Cuyana leather totes ($275) packed with some of the expecting royal’s favourite home and beauty products.

The gift bags included items such as a Jo Malone Green Tomato Leaf candle ($94), Susanne Kaufmann Body Butter ($93), and products from Honest Beauty and Rodin as well as her longtime favourite skincare product — Tatcha “The Rice Polish” Foaming Enzyme Powder ($92).

The shower was held at The Mark Hotel’s 10,000-square-foot, two-floor penthouse, which is said to go for $105,000 per night. The Mark’s chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten created a special menu for the party, and guests enjoyed a flower-arranging class before leaving with all their new swag in tow.

The soiree was hosted by Williams, Amal Clooney, Markle’s stylist bestie Jessica Mulroney and a friend from her teenage years named Genevieve.

Celebrity guests included Amal Clooney and Serena Williams and Oprah’s bestie, Gayle King, who revealed what they got up to inside.

“A good time was had by all,” King said on CBS.

“She didn’t open any of the gifts because she wants to do that when she and Harry are back together.

“I hope she won’t mind me sharing this because I’d never seen anything like this at a baby shower: they did flower arranging. They brought in somebody to explain how to arrange flowers. We all each made an individual base. And then Meghan … got in touch with an organisation I’ve never heard of, Repeat Roses, and all of those were donated to different charities.

“I thought that was a very sweet thing. It just speaks to who she is. She’s very kind, very generous,” King said.
