‘I can’t move’: Queen carries cane during latest royal outing

The Queen has dispelled fears she contracted Covid-19, but she appeared to have another health problem during her latest appearance.

The Queen said she “can’t move” as she was seen in person for the first time since her Covid scare and Andrew’s court settlement today.

The 95-year-old monarch was seen relying on a cane as she met with the incoming Defence Services Secretary Major General Eldon Millar, as well as his predecessor Rear Admiral James Macleod, at Windsor Castle, The Sun reports.

It‘s understood she was feeling a little stiff, rather than being injured or unwell.

During the audience, she was heard saying cheerily: “I’m here! I thought you might have just stayed in there for ages. Good morning.”

Asked how she is, the Queen, pointing to her left leg or foot, responded: “Well, as you can see, I can’t move.”

Rear Admiral Macleod replied: “Well, many congratulations on the start of your Jubilee year.”

Smiling brightly, Her Majesty said: “Oh, thank you very much indeed.”

They then discussed the monarch’s dorgi Candy, with the military man saying: “I notice you’ve got Candy keeping guard.

“As we came down the corridor, she wasn’t going to let us get anywhere near you.”

Maj General Millar added: “She gave a little growl as we came in.”

The Queen said: “Oh, really? She doesn’t normally growl.”

“She obviously can see through us,” Rear Admiral Mcleod joked.

Buckingham Palace has declined to comment further.

However, if Her Majesty is feeling slightly out of sorts today, it looks like she’s got exactly the right idea on how to get better soon.

It’s the royal’s first in-person appearance since her Covid scare six days ago.

The meeting suggests she has escaped the virus, despite coming into contact with the Prince of Wales, who tested positive two days later.

Despite that, it’s been a challenging few days for Her Majesty.

Her second son Andrew is facing a multimillion-dollar payout after settling his sex case out of court.

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Cornwall caught Covid after her husband’s surprise diagnosis on a routine lateral flow test.

And today the Metropolitan Police has launched an investigation into a cash for honours scandal involving Charles’ charitable foundation.

Buckingham Palace has continued to refuse to confirm whether the Queen tested positive or negative for coronavirus.

However, the cheering sight of the monarch greeting her guests today suggests she remains well.

She will have taken daily lateral flow tests over the past seven days, in keeping with current guidelines.

Her Majesty looked radiant in a geometric patterned dress as she greeted the servicemen today.

She is forging ahead with her busy calendar during her Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Brits will mark the event with a four-day bank holiday bonanza in June.
