Giggling Princess Charlotte wows Jubilee crowds in Wales

Four of the Cambridge clan headed to Wales for the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations, but it was Charlotte who got all the attention.

Princess Charlotte erupted into laughter on Saturday as she conducted a band on her first Royal visit.

Mum Kate Middleton showed the royal youngster, seven, the royal ropes as she protectively held her hand on a Platinum Jubilee visit to Wales, The Sun reported.

The Duchess of Cambridge clutched her daughter’s hand as she met entertainers staging a show to mark the Queen’s 70-year reign.

They were joined by Prince William and eight-year-old George, who also walked hand-in-hand, for the royal outing to Cardiff Castle, in Wales’ capital city.

Charlotte, wearing a smart navy frock coat and blue Mary Jane shoes with white ankle socks, smiled as her mum waved to wellwishers.

At one point, the seven-year-old appeared to try to curtsy as she stepped out of the car with her family on arrival this morning.

She was later pictured giggling as she led musicians performing We Don’t Talk About Bruno from the hit Disney film Encanto at the castle.

Kate and Wills also had a go at conducting the orchestra as they blasted out Sweet Caroline.

The duchess was dressed in a long red coat – matching the colour of the red dragon on the Welsh flag.

George, who is one day expected to be given the title the Prince of Wales, joined his family as they chatted to crowds of royal fans.

William placed his arm around his eldest son as he too demonstrated how official engagements are done.

Touchingly, George’s visit reflects his dad’s first official visit to Wales at the same age when he joined Princess Diana and Charles on a trip to Cardiff in 1991.

He and Charlotte looked a little uncertain as they met the royal goat Shenkin IV on their trip today with their parents.

But younger brother Prince Louis – who stole the show when he appeared on the Buckingham Palace’s balcony with his family and the Queen after Trooping the Colour on Thursday – missed out on the visit.

The adorable royal was seen jumping with glee after he was wowed by the Red Arrows before chatting to his great-grandmother Her Majesty.

Just hours earlier, Charlotte was snapped playfully calming her little brother as he enthusiastically waved to enormous crowds watching Trooping the Colour.

The royal youngster placed her hand over her younger brother while in the carriage procession.

Today, Kate, Wills, George, and Charlotte watched rehearsals and meet some of the acts taking part in the celebrations, including Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler, on what is the young siblings’ first official visit to Wales.

Bonnie was last week made an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for her services to music.

Jubilee celebrations

Other royals are on visits elsewhere in the UK, while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrate their daughter’s first birthday behind closed doors at Windsor.

The Sussexes, who introduced Lilibet to the Queen for the first time this weekend, are understood to be marking the special day in private.

Meanwhile, Kate and Wills yesterday joined other members of the Firm at St Paul’s Cathedral for a special service of thanksgiving.

While the Queen, 96, herself did not attend due to mobility issues, Charles and Camilla, Beatrice and Eugenie and Zara and Mike Tindall were out in force.

Kate and William arrived to loud cheers from members of the public waiting outside.

But Harry and Meghan were seated in the second row on the right hand side, away from the Cambridges who at the front on the left.

It’s reported Palace aides worked behind the scenes for months to perfectly choreograph the Jubilee service so Harry and William wouldn’t come face-to-face.

The brothers sat on separate sides of St Paul’s and arrived with their wives at different times.

The couples did not make eye contact or acknowledge each other.
