Fans spot unexpected detail in new Meghan Markle photo

Meghan popped up in a new Instagram post to promote her friend’s initiative – but fans were distracted by something else.

Meghan Markle’s engagement ring has made a big comeback – but eagle-eyed followers have noticed something different about it.

The Duchess of Sussex was spotted numerous times over the past year without the three-diamond accessory, prompting plenty of speculation about its absence.

However, in a new Instagram post for her friend Kelly Zajfren’s charity, Alliance of Moms, Meghan was once again wearing the ring – and, as many pointed out, it appeared to have swelled in size.

“Is it just me or has #MeghanMarkle’s engagement ring doubled in size?” one social media user wrote, alongside a zoomed-in picture of the diamond.

“I’ve been saying she took wedding ring off to slowly change the size of the diamond. It wasn’t big enough for her,” another added.

Last August, a source close to Meghan addressed rumours about her missing jewellery, insisting it was just “being fixed”.

She was once again spotted with the ring in February, after what appeared to be a nine-month absence from her hand.

If it has now been enlarged, it wouldn’t be the first time the ring had undergone changes, with Meghan replacing the original gold band with a thin micro-pavé version in 2019.

The one-of-a-kind engagement ring was designed by Harry himself (with the help of the late Queen Elizabeth’s jeweller, Cleave & Company) prior to their 2017 engagement, and features a large cushion-cut centre diamond sourced from Botswana, where the couple spent time together early in their relationship.

It also features two side stones from the late Princess Diana’s jewellery collection.

During Harry and Meghan’s engagement interview, the bride-to-be gushed: “It’s beautiful, and he designed it – it’s incredible.”
