Fans go crazy as ‘humble’ Meghan closes her car door ‘like a normal person’

MEGHAN, the Duchess of Sussex, wowed onlookers at her first solo event in London earlier this week, but it’s one very ordinary gesture she carried out that has social media losing its mind.

FROM Hollywood actress, to royalty — the last few years have certainly been a whirlwind for Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.

Despite the 37-year-old adjusting to royal life incredibly well, fans couldn’t help but be utterly stunned when Meghan did something totally ‘normal’ at her first solo engagement yesterday evening, reports The Sun.

While attending the Oceania exhibit at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, Meghan did something a member of the royal family would never usually do.

The Duchess stepped out of her car and greeted a member of staff, before shutting her own car door.

And social media went utterly wild.

I have literally been laughing for 15 minutes after seeing people freak out over Meghan Markle closing a car door herself. I honestly can’t stop laughing. I may pass out. I love you, UK. Never change.

One disbelieving user wrote: “Meghan closing her own car door is iconic. The Queen could never. Meghan out here not needin no man to shut her door for her [sic].”

Many Twitter users praised Meghan for being “down to earth”, with one revealing they’d never seen a member of the royal family shut their own car door before.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen a member of the royal family do that before. Wow,” they tweeted.

Others gushed that Meghan closing the door proved how “normal” she is.

“Yay Meghan! She’s a real, regular princess/person,” one wrote.

“I think she did it as a normal action to close a car door. He probably assumed that someone else (not her) was going to close it.”

Others however, were utterly stunned that Meghan closing a car door was making news.

One Twitter user joked: “People congratulating Meghan for closing her car door is the most British thing ever” while another said: “I can’t believe Meghan Markle closing a car door is big news, this world is broken.”
