Ed Sheeran’s manager blasts Princess Beatrice for cutting the singer with a sword

Ed Sheeran’s manager has let rip at Princess Beatrice after she cut the singer’s face with a sword during a party in Windsor.

Ed Sheeran’s manager has blasted Princess Beatrice for being a “fu**ing idiot” when she allegedly cut the singer’s face with a sword.

The incident took place at a party at the Royal Lodge in Windsor in 2016.

At the time, a source told The Sun: “Ed had been invited to dinner as a guest of Princess Beatrice. They all sat down and there were 20 or so guests, including Sarah Ferguson, James Blunt and his wife Sofia Wellesley.

“As the night wore on they started talking about honours and apparently James Blunt joked that he would love a knighthood,” the source explained. “Beatrice jokingly said she could arrange it and fetched a ceremonial sword.

“James played along with the prank and got down on one knee as he would if he were at Buckingham Palace being honoured by The Queen.

“Beatrice, who was in great form, held the sword above him and said ‘arise Sir James’, just like her nan would at the Palace.

“But she must have misjudged the weight or something and, instead of lightly tapping him on the shoulder, she swung it back, not knowing Ed was standing right behind her.

“The blade cut into his face and it was just a few inches from his right eye.

“A couple of the guests said it could have been worse and he could have been blinded in the eye but Ed really played it down.

“Everyone was totally shocked and apparently Beatrice was very upset. But Ed was the perfect gentleman and told her it was just an accident.

“However it became apparent that the wound needed treatment so Ed was taken to hospital. He had to have stitches put in.”

In a new interview, Sheeran’s manager Stuart Camp spoke about the incident and claimed he was encouraged to lie about what really happened.

“I got quite protective over that,” Camp told The Telegraph. “Because we’ve never publicly commented on it. But certain people said, ‘Oh, you should lie and say it wasn’t her and say it was someone else’. I said, ‘well, we’re not telling anyone anything.’

“I’m not lying, just because someone’s a fu**ing idiot,” Camp said. “Because they’re thinking, ‘yeah, I will get paralytic and take a sword off the wall’.

“You’re just asking for trouble,” he continued. “You know, we’ve not heard hide nor hair from her since.”

In 2017, James Blunt was asked about the incident and claimed it wasn’t the princess who cut Sheeran.

“Ed was drunk, messing around, and he cut himself,” Blunt told Shortlist. “We made a fancy story up; people fell for it. It was very embarrassing.”
