Last week it was revealed that Sarah Ferguson had not been invited to the crowning of King Charles and Queen Camilla. Now she’s spoken.

Sarah Ferguson has revealed why she is not invited to King Charles‘ coronation.

Last week it was revealed the Duchess of York did not get an invitation to the crowning of Charles and Camilla at Westminster Abbey on May 6.

She is not among the 2,000 guests despite knowing Charles since childhood.

The duchess is expected to watch the event on TV at Royal Lodge, which she shares with disgraced ex Prince Andrew.

And this morning she broke her silence after the snub - telling Good Morning Britain exactly why she wasn‘t invited.

She said: “I‘m not invited because it’s a state occasion. Being divorced you can’t have it both ways.

“I am enjoying being divorced to my husband - not from my husband.

“I am close with King Charles and Camilla.

“The great thing at this moment is the unity of family.

“In private I can be there. It‘s a great feeling to be part of the family.”

Earlier this month, she told ITV1’s Loose Women she always planned to watch the Coronation on TV.

She said: “I will be having a little tea room and putting out the bunting. I love to watch it on the telly because the commentators are always good.”

However the duchess will have a seat on the East Lawn of Windsor Castle 24 hours after the ceremony.

She will be joined at the bash by other royals believed to include daughters Beatrice, 34, and Eugenie, 33, plus 20,000 lucky ticket holders.

Last week, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and Katy Perry joined the concert line-up.

There will also be a drone show, illuminations of UK landmarks, and the Coronation Choir performing.

Prince Harry and Andrew will both attend the Coronation though neither will have a formal role.

Fergie claims to have known Charles and Camilla as a child and mixed in royal circles before meeting Andrew and marrying in 1986.

The couple separated and in 1992 photos emerged of Fergie having her toes kissed by her financial adviser John Bryan.

Outraged Prince Philip banished her from Balmoral and Sandringham whenever he was present and she finally divorced in 1996.
