Claims the royal family is unimpressed with Prince Harry’s latest tell-all

Prince Harry’s recent interview with US actor Dax Shepard labelled as “irresponsible” by royal family, sources claim.

The British royal family is allegedly unimpressed with Prince Harry’s latest tell-all.

Recently, the Duke of Sussex appeared on the Armchair Expert podcast where he compared his royal experience to being on “The Truman Show” and “living in a zoo.” The 36-year-old spoke candidly with host Dax Shepard about how he contemplated quitting royal life on several occasions while in his 20s.

On Wednesday, a source told Us Weekly that Prince Charles and Prince William were allegedly “livid” with the latest interview and wish Harry would “discuss” his “opinions” in private.

“It definitely hasn’t helped with healing the rift,” the insider claimed, noting the family doesn’t want to “engage” with Harry’s public comments.

“They feel it was thoughtless and irresponsible of Harry to once again shade The Firm so soon after Prince Philip’s death, while the Queen is still mourning the death of her husband,” the source also alleged.

Another source also claimed that “Charles may never forgive” his youngest son for speaking out so negatively.

Harry thought his life was like the 1998 Jim Carrey film The Truman Show. The film tells a story about Truman Burbank’s life being televised through hidden cameras while encountering people who were hired actors.

Harry said it was a heavy burden and he struggled to deal with being a member of the royal family. He feared that his wife Meghan Markle, who is pregnant with the couple’s second child, as well as their son Archie, would have to deal with the spotlight the same way his late mother, Princess Diana, had to deal with the enormous attention.

In 1997, Diana died in a car crash at the age of 36 in Paris while being pursued by paparazzi.

“I don’t want this job, I don’t want to be here, I don’t want to be doing this. Look what it did to my mum,” he said.

During the interview, Harry also gave listeners a peek into his relationship with his father Charles.

“He treated me the way he was treated,” said Harry about the 72-year-old.

It has long been rumoured that Charles had somewhat of a rough relationship with his own parents.

“It’s a lot of genetic pain and suffering that gets passed on anyway,” said Harry. “So we as parents should be doing the most we can to try and say, ‘You know what? That happened to me, I’m going to make sure that doesn’t happen to you.’”

The Prince said he hopes to “break the cycle” within his own family after realising that his father’s parenting was a reflection of his own upbringing.

“I never saw it, I never knew about it, and then suddenly I started to piece it together and go, ‘OK, so this is where he went to school, this is what happened, I know this about his life, I also know that is connected to his parents so that means he’s treated me the way he was treated, so how can I change that for my own kids?’”

He added: “And here I am, I moved my whole family to the US, that wasn’t the plan but sometimes you’ve got make decisions and put your family first and put your mental health first.”

During his sit-down with Oprah Winfrey in March, Harry said the royal family cut him off financially at the start of 2020 after he announced plans to step back from his roles. But he was able to afford security for his family because of the money his mother left behind.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s departure from royal duties began last year over what they described as the British media’s intrusions and racist attitudes toward the Duchess. He criticised some American media outlets but said they are an improvement over the ones in the UK.

He feels more liberated after he and his family moved to California.

“Living here now I can actually lift my head and actually feel different,” said Harry, who added he’s able to take Archie for bicycle rides. “You can walk around feeling a little bit more free.”
