Chatty Kate Middleton pulled into line by Camilla at Order of the Garter
The Duchess of Cambridge is known as one of the best performing young royals, but Camilla had to give her a reminder about protocol during a recent family event.
A sheepish Meghan Markle was told to ‘turn around’ by a stern Prince Harry at Trooping the Colour last week, and it seems that he is not the only royal to keep others in check.
Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, could be spotted telling a chatty Queen Maxima of the Netherlands and Kate Middleton to pay attention at yesterday’s Order of the Garter, The Sun reports.
The Argentinian-born Queen was given a firm tap by Prince Charles’ wife who was keen to see them keep to the schedule at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.
The Duchess of Cornwall, 70, is 37-year-old Duchess of Cambridge’s superior as Prince Charles is first in line to the throne meaning that she will be Queen Consort ahead of Kate - giving her an air of authority.
She and the Duchess of Cambridge then turned to face forward in time for the procession to begin.
Kate dazzled in a £250 ($A460) ivory Catherine Walker coat dress for the event which saw her join a host of European royals.
As well as the Duchess of Cornwall and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, Kate welcomed guests Queen Maxima and Queen Letizia of Spain on Monday.
They appeared all smiles as they supported their husbands, King Felipe VI of Spain and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands as they were officially invested Knights of the Garter by her Majesty.
This is not the first time that royals have needed a gentle reminder when it came to paying attention with Harry having to tell Meghan to “turn around” during Trooping the Colour.
Royal fans were convinced they could see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have a marital tiff on the Buckingham Palace balcony.
According to lip reader Tina Lannin, Harry says: “No he hasn’t. Oh fine. Turn around.”
Just at this point the National Anthem begins playing, indicating that perhaps he is telling her to stand to attention just in time before the music begins.
