Rolf Harris battling with neck cancer

An ambulance has been photographed outside the UK home of Rolf Harris who has been gravely ill with neck cancer since he left prison.

The paedophile sex offender and former TV star and musician has reportedly been struggling to eat since his release from prison in 2017.

In late 2022 it was reported that Harris, 93, was extremely unwell and is very hard to understand.

An ambulance was seen on Wednesday outside his home in Berkshire, west of London, the Daily Mail reported. The ambulance departed at 6pm.

Harris lives with wife Alwen, 91, who has Alzheimer’s disease. The couple need round the clock care.

Talking to the Mail, private investigator and author William Merritt said Harris was gravely ill when he saw him in 2022.

“Rolf has been very sick. When I saw him he was able to speak to me. He was with it, but he was obviously unwell”.

A neighbour last year said Harris’ health had declined after the death of his poodle, Bumble.

“Only carers and nurses, who care for him 24 hours, come and go. I’m told he can’t eat anymore,” they said.

Disgraced

Harris was born in 1930 in Bassendean, in Perth’s north east.

He became internationally famous through his art and music. He composed hits some of which focused heavily on Australiana including Tie me Kangaroo Down Sport.

In 2005, Queen Elizabeth II sat for a portrait with him.

He was a mainstay of British TV and for almost a decade and from the mid 1990s presented Animal Hospital, a reality show about a London vets. It was one of Britain’s highest rated shows at the time.

But he was ultimately disgraced when in 2013 he was arrested as part of a UK police investigation into sexual offences.

In June 2014, Harris was convicted of 12 counts of indecent assault against four teenage girls between 1968 and 1986, one of which he later appealed.

He was released from Stafford Prison in England’s midlands in 2017 after three years behind bars and has rarely been seen in public since.
