A PRETTY predictable and highly entertaining roll-call of Aussie names has made a list of the year's most loved and loathed celebrities.
A PRETTY predictable and highly entertaining roll-call of Aussie names has made a list of the year's most loved and loathed celebrities.
Devoid of reality TV stars and big name socialites, the majority of the top 10 most loved celebrities are comedians or theatre stars.
Unsurprisingly, Hugh Jackman took out the most popular local celeb title for the second year in a row, while on-screen sweetheart Rebecca Gibney landed the no.2 spot again.

Among the predominantly male bottom 10 is Lara Bingle, whose score dramatically decreased since the airing of the fly-on-the-wall reality series, Being Lara Bingle.
High-profile bookmaker Tom Waterhouse is a new entrant on the list and came in within the bottom 10 indicating that his recent and well-publicised apology came a little too late, while born-again pollie Pauline Hanson and Matthew Newton have also gone to the back of the class.
Entertainment industry magazine, Encore, has revealed the star-studded inventory which details the personalities who are most admired and derided by the Australian public.
"The second year of the Encore Score has produced an interesting set of results as a number of celebrities move up and down the list," said managing editor of Encore, Brooke Hemphill.
"This year we included an additional 300 personalities and we anticipate Australian stars will be falling over themselves to download the app to find out where they have placed."
The Encore Score surveyed 3,500 respondents to gauge how Australians feel about a range of on-air personalities from TV, radio and film, with the results charting how widely more than 1,000 Australian celebrities are recognised, as well as how positively and negatively they are perceived by the Australian public.
The Encore Score has been created as a research tool for TV programmers, and advertising agencies to use when selecting celebrities for TV shows and as brand ambassadors.
While being loved is what many aspire to be, being loathed hasn't done the working lives or bank balances of Kyle Sandilands, John Laws, Sam Newman or Alan Jones much harm at all. The four media blokes having made careers out of speaking their minds.
This is the second time that Sandilands and Newman have topped the most hated celeb list.
The list of celebrities used in the survey was compiled by Encore and increased from 738 names in 2012 to more than 1,000 in 2013 with 3,500 members of the public having completed the survey.
The public was asked which celebrities they recognised and how much they liked or hated each person based on seeing the name and image of that person.
A formula was then applied to each celeb's results that took into account how many people liked them, hated them and recognised them, which gave them their Encore Score. This score was then compared with other scores to produce a ranking.
The complete ranked list of celebrities is released today at the Mumbrella 360 Conference and is available on the Encore available from the App Store.
