Resurfaced clip of Diddy’s ‘adopted daughter’ Ava sparks concerns amid rapper’s arrest
A resurfaced clip of the rap mogul’s ‘adopted daughter’ comes amid fears over her whereabouts after his arrest.
The whereabouts of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ “daughter” Ava – whom he never legally adopted – is continuing to raise concern online after the rapper’s recent arrest.
Sources told TMZ Tuesday that the Bad Boy Records founder was never actually Ava’s father, despite him once saying he “adopted” her in a 2020 skit that has resurfaced amid his legal woes.
The outlet reported that the whole situation has been “overblown” as Ava has been close friends with Combs and his late ex Kim Porter’s 17-year-old twin daughters, D’Lila and Jessie, since they were younger. Per the outlet, her parents have always cared for her.
TMZ reports that Ava’s parents were close friends with Porter, who died in 2018 after a battle with pneumonia, and have kept the young girl away from Combs amid his mounting legal woes.
Page Six has reached out to Combs’ rep but did not immediately hear back.
Concerns about Ava first surfaced in March, following the Homeland Security raids on Combs’ Miami and Los Angeles homes.
At the time, a 2020 Instagram Live video of the young girl with Combs, 54, and his other children reemerged to the public.
“My name’s Ava. I’m a Scorpio,” the teen began before Combs interrupted her and told her to say her last name. “Ava Combs Baroni.”
The billionaire hop-hop mogul then claimed that he had “adopted” the “white child.”
“I want you to tell them the story of how I adopted you, but you still have beautiful parents that — but you’re my child also,” he said.
Ava then jokingly explained how she was “on the streets” before “Papa Combs decided that he was going to be a caring man.”
“So then, he saw me and decided to pick me up and said to come inside and stay with his kids,” she shared, adding that she and the rapper’s twin daughters, Jessie and D’Lila, are “basically sisters.”
While Combs admitted Ava’s recollection of events was “a little bit borderline suspect,” he claimed he “adopted” her like Madonna, Charlize Theron and Sandra Bullock adopted their kids.
“I adopted you because I felt that you could enjoy also having a black parent to take care of you and help you out,” he continued, adding that he got “permission” from the young girl’s mother.
The Sean John founder concluded that clip by clarifying that her name is “Ava Baroni Combs” before kissing her cheek.
Fans expressed continued concern about Ava’s whereabouts on social media after Combs was arrested last week by the feds and charged with racketeering conspiracy; sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution.
“Where is the young white girl Ava that was adopted by P Diddy? How many more P.Diddy’s are still protected in the industry? How many more kids have been groomed?” asked one user on X.
“I wonder what ever happened to her? In the coming days, I am confident we will see some crazy s–t,” added another.
Combs is currently being held in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, NY, after being denied bond twice. The disgraced hip-hop mogul pleaded not guilty to the charges.
