Reports of a bizarre Beckham family feud emerge after Brooklyn’s star-studded wedding
Just months after the family put on a gushing show of unity amid Brooklyn’s $5 million wedding, there’s reportedly trouble in paradise.
Mystery surrounds Victoria Beckham and son Brooklyn’s wife Nicola after fans spotted they have been “ignoring each other” for months on social media.
Prior to Brooklyn and Nicola’s lavish £3 million ($A5.2 million) wedding in April, fashion designer Victoria and actress Nicola couldn’t heap enough praise on one another.
Last summer the pair went on a liking frenzy, reacting to each other’s social media posts with an outpouring of love, reports The Sun.
Transformers star Nicola complimented her mother-in-law’s eponymous clothing label and enjoyed girly days with sister-in-law Harper, 10, while proud Victoria repeatedly spoke of her love for Nicola and seemed thrilled to have her as part of the family.
But since the lavish nuptials this year, both have liked only a handful of each other’s content – a noticeable drop off on the past.
A family insider didn’t rule out rumours of a rift to the Mail, saying: “People constantly speculate about relationships — we don’t really care as it’s just silly.”
And a source told the publication that the Peltz family’s attitude towards brand Beckham could be to blame.
They said: “There is a feeling that the Peltzes rather turn their noses up at the Beckhams … the way that they do things and their celebrity profile.
“Meanwhile, the Peltz clan has really embraced Brooklyn. There is a feeling that Brooklyn is now all about the Peltz family and not the Beckhams.”
Last month Nicola appeared to take aim at her famous in-laws — saying her new hubby felt “pressured” into careers he did not enjoy.
She made a barbed comment against those who advised him — including his parents David, 47, and Victoria, 48 — when asked about his career change from photography to cookery.
Speaking to Tatler Magazine, Nicola, 27, said Brooklyn, 23, felt “a lot of pressure to please people with his career and he didn’t love it.”
She went on to say Brooklyn was turning to her father, billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz, for advice.
Nicola said: “Brooklyn is getting into very exciting things with his shows and also business things and it’s really sweet.
“I watch him call my dad and say, ‘What do you think about this?’ I love watching him learn from my dad.”
It was also claimed on social media that Brooklyn had snubbed his former Spice Girl mum on Mother’s Day after he failed to mark the occasion online.
But those close to the family insisted there was no issue between them.
The couple spend most of their time in Los Angeles — and Nicola has ruled out a return to the UK.
She said: “I would say ‘No’, but you never know. I love knowing I’m so close to my family.”
Asked about their lifestyle, Nicola added: “Honestly, we never go out. Our happy place is staying in, watching a show and being with our dogs. We’re like an old married couple.”
Nicola also opened up about her wedding to Brooklyn, which they showed off in British Vogue.
She said: “I had the best day. I just kept thinking, ‘I’m marrying my best friend.’ And that’s all that matters.”
Guests on the day included Beckham family friends Gordon Ramsay and Eva Longoria, along with Venus and Serena Williams.
