Rebel Wilson reveals cycling injury while in London for secret film project

Jetsetting star Rebel Wilson has been injured while cycling in London where she’s currently filming a secret project.

Rebel Wilson has shared photos of her recovery after being injured in a cycling accident in London.

The actress, who is in the UK filming an unknown project, posted a photo on Instagram of her leg elevated with several ice packs.

“F**k people who don’t have their dogs on the lead and let them run onto the road,” she wrote of the ordeal.

“But 20 minutes earlier before the accident I was cycling great!!” she added along with footage of her cycling around the city minutes before the accident.

The Pitch Perfect star has been in London for the past week to work on a secret project, taking time out of her work schedule to reconnect with an old friend – British comedian Matt Lucas.

The actors, who played sibling roommates in Bridesmaids back in 2011 – having actually lived together once before – posted a photo together on Sunday.

Referencing Lucas’ character Daffyd Thomas in Little Britain, Wilson wrote: “Only gays in the village” beneath the cheeky selfie.

“Love you Matt, you’re always there for helpful roommate/brotherly advice,” she added.

Over on Lucas’ page, he wrote: “Reunited after a year apart. A lovely weekend walk with an old friend who is here filming a movie. #roomies.”

While the project Wilson has in the works remains a mystery, it comes shortly after the star announced her plans to take on her first role as a director.

Sharing a photo of a Hollywood Reporter article about how female directors broke the record for most Oscar nominations this year, she wrote: “Biggest congrats ladies,” beneath the image.

“You’ve inspired me to take my first ever directing job in 2022.’”

Despite travel off the cards for most people around the world amid the pandemic, Wilson has spent time in several countries in the past few months, including Mexico in January.

Rebel – who lives in LA – also caused uproar when she flew to Florida in a private jet for the Super Bowl in February.

Disappointed fans ripped into the 40-year-old actress after she flew to watch the Super Bowl despite health advice to stay home and avoid the potential spread of coronavirus.

Wilson posted photos of her journey on a private jet with five friends, with followers flocking to the comments to criticise the move.

While the star donned a mask in many of her photos — and presumably followed necessary safety procedures for the trip — a number of her fans slammed her for not “setting an example” for others.

“How lovely that the rich and famous can do as they please during a global pandemic while the rest of us stay home – guess COVID is only for poor people,” one wrote.

“I’m disappointed to see that you’re not setting an example for your followers,” another said.

“There shouldn’t be parties, we’re still in a pandemic. Thousands of people are dying every day,” another chimed in.
