Pink gets emotional as she visits sick kids at Melbourne children’s hospital: ‘If you cry, I cry’
Pink was left close to tears during a recent visit to a children’s hospital in Melbourne with her daughter, Willow.
Pink got emotional during a recent visit to a children’s hospital in Melbourne.
The American singer, who is currently in Australia for her Summer Carnival tour, delighted young patients at the Royal Children’s Hospital when she popped in for a visit on Tuesday with her 12-year-old daughter, Willow.
But, according to the singer, the privilege was all hers.
“It’s been 22 years since I first visited families at the Royal Children’s Hospital, and it was a privilege to return to @rchmelbourne this week,” she wrote on Instagram where she shared a clip of their visit.
“Thank you to everyone who spent time with Willow and me. Thank you for sharing your stories and letting us play you a couple of songs. We won’t forget this day.”
Strumming her guitar, Pink and Willow played their smash hit Cover Me In Sunshine. One mother was tearful as she revealed the song has helped her daughter stay positive amid her treatments.
As the mum began crying, Pink said, “If you cry, I cry!” before they hugged each other.
The clip also shows Pink giving a little girl a teddy bear and singing You Are My Sunshine to a baby.
Elsewhere in the clip, Pink hugs another young girl, telling her, “You’re like a little light bulb,” to which the girl replies, “I love your music, it’s amazing.”
Pink has been winning hearts across Australia both onstage and off as she continues to spread the love during her Australian tour.
Weeks ago, she surprised a young fan backstage at her Melbourne show, singing Happy Birthday to 11-year-old girl Molly and presenting her with a cake.
Chris Hemsworth’s actress wife Elsa Pataky filmed the sweet moment, before posting it to Instagram.
Pataky attended Pink’s show at Marvel Stadium with her 11-year-old daughter, India, and a group of their friends, including Molly.
“Girls night to go see Pink in concert. You are amazing. Thanks for making Molly feel so special on her birthday,” Pataky wrote.
