One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has become a dad
LOUIS Tomlinson has reportedly become a father and tweens the world over aren’t too happy about it.
LOUIS Tomlinson has become a dad for the first time — after his former partner gave birth to a baby boy.
The Sun is reporting that the One Direction star’s ex Briana Jungwirth delivered their son in a Los Angeles hospital.
Louis, 24, was at the side for the birth, but further details have not been released.
Briana and Louis met last May, and were pictured partying together with mutual pals.
The news that she was pregnant with his first child followed later that summer — and sources claimed that the pair weren’t dating, nor had they ever.
The news of baby Tomlinson’s birth was met with disbelief on Twitter, with many Directioners unsure if they should believe the baby had been born, or that Louis is even the dad.
One disgruntled Directioner raged: “Oh finally after a year of being pregnant, briana finally “gave birth” to a non-existent child #WelcomeBabyTomlinson.”
She wasn’t the only one venting online today.
From this morning onwards, 1D fans have spent a large chunk of the day posting frenzied theories and statements about whether or not stylist Briana, 24, had gone in to labour.
The fuss began after a fan account tweeted that Louis’ grandmother had confirmed the pair had welcomed a son.
A user called @PerezHimelada tweeted him saying: “Congratulations on the baby’s arrival! Hope he is healthy and strong. Love and support you always.”
An Instagram account apparently owned by Briana’s grandmother also caused a furore after a gushing tribute to her new grandson went online.
She wrote: “Louis just let Ur heart dance. U now have another you.
“A gift that will want to be just like YOU. Love him & my young grandchild that gave him to you.
“LET her know she’s special. She just wanted to love U not even knowing who U were or your profile Ur & reputation.
“Be free & just LIVE. It’s simple. Not complex. Be free with love of yourself & Ur child that will want to be just like U.
“That is, If U let him. He’ll be watching all U do. And hope to be just like U, if U let him. A little boy that’s just sees you.
“Take charge.& respect Briana that was willing to go throw it all. She’s never loved before.”
Louis, who is currently dating American actress Danielle Campbell, has reportedly relocated to LA to be closer to Briana and his child
A friend told The Sun after we revealed Briana’s pregnancy that he is looking forward to being a hands-on dad.
They said: “Louis and Briana have spent a lot of time together and are really close. Louis really cares about Briana and thinks she will be a great mum. Their friendship has got even stronger though this.
“Louis is being very protective of her and making sure she takes it easy ... Louis is really excited about becoming a dad.”
However, just a couple of weeks ago, it looked like first time mum Briana was feeling understandably anxious about the new arrival.
Taking to her private new Instagram account, she posted a link to an emotional 12-minute video clip of struggling vlogger Jaclyn Hill who says: “I feel like a lot of people forget that I have blood in my veins.
“I cry when I’m sad. I bleed when I get cut, and I’m a real person.”
Briana added under the post: “I felt the need to share it with all of you. I’ve found a lot of things Jaclyn says in this video relatable and important.”
If she needs support, she doesn’t have to look further than One Direction mentor Simon Cowell.
Earlier today, the 56-year-old said that he would happily be godfather to the first 1D baby.
Speaking in London, he said: “We’ll have to wait and see.
“I’m godfather to a lot of kids now, but I would if he asked.”
But while he might be on hand at the christening, Simon won’t be the person to turn to for practical advice.
He admitted: “I’ve never changed a nappy, but I do other things.
“I’ve taught Eric how to share and not watch certain shows, which are so awful. Some of these kids shows drive you mad.
“He’s talking all the time. He’s cute and happy.”
