Mischa Barton’s public sex tape hell
THE star’s ex secretly filmed her without her knowledge — and is now trying to sell the footage to the highest bidder. Now she’s speaking out.
MISCHA Barton is fighting back against an ex-boyfriend she says secretly filmed her and is now trying to sell the sexually explicit video for $500,000.
The actor says her “worst fear” came true when reports surfaced this week that an alleged “revenge porn” tape of herself was being shopped around X-rated sites.
Barton said at a press conference Wednesday, “This is a painful situation, and my absolute worst fear was realised when I learned that someone I thought I loved and trusted was filming my most intimate and private moments, without my consent, with hidden cameras. Then I learned something even worse: that someone is trying to sell these videos and make them public.”
Her lawyer, Lisa Bloom, says Barton has obtained a domestic violence restraining order against the unnamed man who they believe is trying to peddle the tape.
“Because Miss Barton has dated him, we contended that she was protected under California’s laws against domestic violence which prohibit all forms of abuse by a former intimate partner … we consider this to be a form of domestic abuse … the court ordered that this individual and his agents ‘may not sell, distribute, give away or show any naked pictures or videos of any type of Mischa Barton,” said Bloom, adding they plan to prosecute the alleged peddler under “every available civil and criminal law.”
Bloom said Barton and the accused seller were “in a brief relationship” and the video was shot in the last year. She added the actor “does not know exactly how the recordings were made, whether there was a hidden camera, which is very common and easy to do, or whether it was a phone camera.”
