Mischa Barton picks feud with LA socialite over reported sacking

Former “It” girl” Mischa Barton has picked a fight with an LA socialite, after it was reported she was replacing her in Barton’s latest TV show.

Mischa Barton has reportedly been dumped from her latest TV venture, and she’s made it clear she’s not happy about it.

The former “It” girl and star of The OC seemingly denied reports she’d been omitted from season 2 of MTV’s The Hills: New Beginnings, which aired its debut season last year and is available to stream on Foxtel Now.

US Weekly claims American DJ and business owner Caroline D’Amore is set to replace Barton, who made a TV comeback in the first season last year, because she was “too boring”.

Barton, 34, shared a screenshot of the US Weekly headline in question on Instagram with the caption, “Lol. Where do people get their reporting from?”

She went on to take digs at D’Amore, who is the CEO of US pasta company Pizza Girl Inc.

“As if anyone would watch @carolinedamore try to hoc (sic) her boring a** pasta bowls and greasy pizza on tv,” Barton continued. “Tried that it was like watching paint dry. Get the story straight first. @usweekly.”

D’Amore, 34, responded to the comments, labelling Barton a “bully”, adding the star had actually helped increase her pizza sales.

“Thank you for the sudden surge in @pizzagirlofficial sales this morning,” D’Amore wrote in response, rocking lingerie and holding up a “Pizza Girl” box.

She went on to add “#sellingout #notstoopingtoyourlevel @mischabarton REAL women don’t bully other women.”

The US Weekly report claims Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Whitney Port, Jason Wahler, Frankie Delgado, Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter will all be returning, with Barton alone getting the boot.

Series veteran Montag admitted that Barton’s laid-back nature was a bit off-putting for the drama-filled bunch, which may have contributed to the actress being perceived as “boring.”

“I think it was a little frustrating for me at first, because, like, we’ve put our whole lives into this show before and after, so to have someone come in and, like, be so reserved was a little bit frustrating,” Montag, 33, told US in June 2019.

“I don’t think it was intentional, I think that is, like, how she is, and she’s just a little more closed and needed a little more time to open (up).”
