MICHELLE Bridges has spoken about how she will juggle the delicate demands of a raising her first child in a blended family.

Bridges is seven months pregnant with her Biggest Loser trainer boyfriend Steve ‘Commando’ Willis, while still working closely with her ex-husband Bill Moore on her fitness brand.

Willis also already has three children from two previous relationships, 17-year-old Brianna from an early relationship and Ella, six, and Jack, three with his former de facto partner Froso.

It’s an unconventional family situation, but Bridges says they will manage.

“I know them all,” she told The Australian Women’s Weekly of her partner’s three children, “and Steve is a great father to them. They are all excited about it too. So I think it will all work. We will all come together when we can and it will just work.”

The 44-year-old said she and Willis, who started dating in 2013 when they both broke up with their respective partners, had talked about having a baby “for some time” and had even begun the complicated IVF road.

“And then, one morning, I took a pregnancy test and it came back positive. And we said, ‘OK, we don’t need IVF then’. I was surprised, but it was such a wonderful surprise and something we didn’t expect.”

Bridges said she always hoped that she would be a mother and it never left the back of her mind, even though it didn’t happen with her former husband and manager Moore, whom she was married to for nine years.

The pair remain friends and Bridges says she is proud of the way they have continued to work together despite their divorce.

“We have a good relationship,” she said of Moore. “We spent a lot of years together and worked hard building up a business that benefits both of us. And just because we’re not together anymore, we didn’t see the need to wash all that away. It’s challenging, but what we try to do is step outside ourselves and remove the emotion from it all and set that aside, and then use our best judgment to try to make the best decisions we can. And to be honest, I am very proud of that.”

Bridges says she plans to take three months off to spend with Willis and their baby and will ease herself back into work.

“This is the most exciting time of my life and I’m loving it. The mood swings that I had at the beginning of the pregnancy are all in the past.

“I can’t wait to meet the baby and get cracking into a whole new chapter of our lives. I have had such an amazing life so far. I have had a wonderful time and this is a new adventure and I am really looking forward to it.”
