Michelle Bridges has opened up about the ‘toughest month of her life’ on Instagram

Michelle Bridges has posted a candid statement on Instagram in the aftermath of her drink driving scandal and high-profile split.

Michelle Bridges has issued a poignant statement to her Instagram page amid her drink driving scandal and sudden split from partner Steve “Commando” Willis.

Calling the past month “the toughest of her life”, the fitness guru thanked her loved ones for their support, adding that “the remorse and guilt won’t go away”, presumably in reference to her DUI.

Her post comes a week after she pleaded guilty for drink-driving with her young son Axel in the car on Australia Day, for which she was handed a three-month driving ban and a $750 fine with a recorded conviction.

Beneath a photo of her gazing out to the ocean, the former Biggest Loser star wrote candidly: “The last month has been the toughest time of my life.

“What I’d like to say is thank you – to my loved ones, my friends, my team, and to all who have reached out to me.

“I have received so many messages of kindness from both strangers and people I know. The biggest thank you to you all. I know the remorse and guilt won’t go away, but I’m determined to keep moving forward, working hard and being thankful for all the good in my life.”

Yesterday, it was reported father-of-four Willis, who met Bridges while filmimg The Biggest Loser in 2007, is dating an F45 trainer from Sydney’s inner west, Harika Vancuylenberg.

Bridges confirmed her split from The Commando following her drink-driving arrest in a statement to The Daily Telegraph, saying recent weeks had been “a very difficult time … dealing with the break-up of my long-term relationship”.

Earlier this month, Bridges’ lawyer made a desperate argument in court to excuse the celebrity fitness trainer from having a drink-driving conviction recorded.

Mr Bellanto argued his client was a “special person” and should be treated as such by the court. However, the magistrate did not agree.

Bridges was stopped by police during a roadside random breath test after being pulled over on Australia Day just before 11.25am.

She was pulled over on New South Head Road in Bellevue Hill, and allegedly recorded .086 when tested by police.

Police confirmed Bridges had been caught during the RBT operation.

“A 49-year-old woman, driving a Range Rover SUV, was subjected to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result,” NSW police said in a statement. “A five-year-old passenger was in the car at the time.”

After being arrested, Bridges published a statement in The Daily Telegraph saying she had “deep regret” over the incident, calling it a “terrible mistake and an error of judgment”.
