Michael Clarke 'couldn't be happier' after marrying Kyly Boldy
KYLY Boldy officially Australia's number one WAG after marrying cricket captain Michael Clarke. And Pup's all aTwitter.
IT'S the secret wedding that shocked the sporting world. News of Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke's surprise Blue Mountains nuptials with Kyly Boldy was confirmed only when the newlyweds simultaneously posted their joy on Twitter late yesterday.
Accompanied by a handful of personal wedding photographs featuring Boldy resplendent in a white and silver gown, it followed a non-existent engagement.
"Happiest guy in the world. Married KylyBoldy yesterday in front of our gorgeous families. Couldn't be happier!" Clarke tweeted.
Beaming Boldy echoed:"Luckiest Woman in the world! Married MClarke23 on the 15th of May 2012. Greatest day of my life, so proud to be your Wife."
It's believed the couple covertly booked out the six-star Wolgan Valley Resort for four nights, arriving late Monday with Clarke rushing back from his Indian Premier League commitments on a leave pass.
The couple spent Tuesday with their immediate family and a handful of friends before a sunset ceremony. No members of the current team were believed to be there.
Shane Warne - without fiancee Liz Hurley - was among the select group in attendance, with staff at the luxury resort instructed to sign confidentiality agreements about the nuptials, reception and any guests.
When contacted yesterday afternoon, the resort said it "would not be commenting on the wedding".
However it's understood all 40 suites on the Emirates-owned property were booked for guests with about 70 people on hand to witness the ceremony, which followed a low-profile two-year courtship.
A friend of Boldy described the couple as "so suited".
"Kyly is such a private, normal hard-working girl and I'm so happy for her to have married Michael. They are perfect for each other," the friend said, adding Boldy had always intended to conduct her relationship with Clarke well out of the media spotlight.
"She has dated high-profile men before and always took a similar approach. Even though she was trying to build an acting and modelling career, her private life was private."
Indeed little is known about the couple's courtship, which began - according to friends - about three months after Clarke's high-profile split from ex-fiancee Lara Bingle.
Schoolmates at Parramatta Westfields Sports High School, it's believed Boldy and Clarke had mixed in similar circles for several years before re-acquainting in the wake of Clarke's 2010 break-up, with a handful of dates evolving into a live-in relationship.
A one-time Indy Car grid girl who had dabbled in acting and presenting, Boldy's most notable previous relationship was with V8 Supercar driver James Courtney.
Clarke is expected to return to India tomorrow with Cricket Australia sources admitting yesterday few knew of his wedding plans. "Cricket Australia knew Clarke was coming home but thought it was part of his rest and recovery management after a long season," an insider said.

Clarke, 31, led Australia to a 2-0 Test series victory in the West Indies late last month and then flew to India to fulfil a million-dollar contract.
There is a growing trend for Australian cricketers not to invite teammates.
When Shane Watson got married, teammate Ricky Ponting was the only Aussie cricketer who attended - while Mitchell Johnson had none at his wedding.
