Madonna offers to remarry Sean Penn for charity after telling crowd she’s ‘still in love’ with him

THEIR brief marriage was notoriously volatile, but old flames Madonna and Sean Penn might not be done just yet.

Madonna to Sean Penn: 'I'm still in love with you!'

MADONNA had an indecent proposal for old flame Sean Penn — and told him she’d remarry him if he forked out $200,000 for her charity.

The 58-year-old made the offer in front of an audience of stunned A-list celebrities at a charity gala in aid of Madonna’s charity Raising Malawi, reports The Sun.

Penn, 56, who was married to the megastar between 1985 to 1989, was quick to accept his ex’s hand and the pair later put on a suitably bizarre display on stage.

At one point, Penn was seen crawling between her legs and handcuffing himself to her.

Madonna then said: “The many moments that were our marriage.”

She later turned to her former beau and announced: “I’m still in love with you!”

The pair seemed to have timed the bit perfectly to coincide with an auction of previously unseen photos from their wedding day.

Throughout the evening, a host of A-listers donated memorabilia, works of art, and one-off experiences to sell off to the highest bidder.

She billed the night as “an evening of art, music and mischief”.

Items up for grabs included a poker game with Edward Norton and Jonah Hill, a week at Leonardo DiCaprio’s house in Palm Springs, and a custom-designed Fiat 500 inspired by Madonna.

It was during a bidding war for one of her old necklaces that she decided to pick on her ex and make her declaration of love.

Unfortunately, despite being willing to pay the money, he was eventually outbid by other party guests.

James Corden hosted the grand event, which participants reportedly had to fork out $7000 just for a seat at a table.

A premium philanthropist package came in at $200,000 — which paid for 10 people at a table, four people at an exclusive cocktail lounge and a photo with Madonna herself.

Madonna later performed with pop princess Ariana Grande, with the pair spotted twerking during one segment of the song.

While Penn and Madonna seem chummy throughout the night and have remained friends after their divorce, their marriage was riddled with issues.

Madonna initially applied for divorce only two years after their wedding, only to withdraw it shortly after and applying again two years after that.

The evening was a benefit for Raising Malawi, a charity launched by the star 10 years ago.

Opening the event, Madonna’s son David, who was born in the country, gave a heartbreaking speech where he counted himself as one of “the lucky ones” as he plead with those in attendance to give what they could.

The charity is currently building an intensive care unit and paediatric surgery in the country — which is due to open next year.
