LILY Allen was terrorised by an obsessed stalker who broke into her bedroom, ripping her duvet away from her and calling her a “f***ing b****”.

The Sun reports the singer opened up about her seven-year stalker hell after she was bombarded with obsessive letters and threatening tweets.

Allen was also approached at her studio by the stranger, who terrifyingly broke into her flat and threatened her in her bedroom with what she believes was a knife.

The 30-year-old told The Observer she spoke to cops but they dismissed the break-in by the stalker as “probably a drunk”.

The singer first became aware of the stalker when he popped up on a social media account in 2009 using the handle @lilyallenRIP falsely claiming he had written her a hit song called The Fear.

Abusive letters were then sent Lily’s record company and management and the stalker approached the star’s assistant who described the abuser as “frightening”.

Lily installed new security measures at her home but last October forgot to lock the back door when her friend was staying with her along with her two young children.

Lily said she was woken in the early hours by a terrific banging on the wall. She said: “I sat up and looked and the door handle was twisting round.

“This guy came steaming in and I didn’t know who he was. I recoiled and he ripped the duvet off, calling me a ‘f***ing bitch’ and yelling about where his dad is.”

The man had an object stuffed inside his jacket that Lily is convinced was a knife.

Her friend was able to shove the man out of the house as she ran to check her children were safe.

“There was this second outside my kids’ room when I was terrified to go in, in case of what I might find.”

She has since hit out at the police over their handling of the case because she was made to feel like a “nuisance not a victim”.

The mum-of-two even had to turn detective and employ her own lawyer after evidence went missing and threats to kill her were dismissed.

She told The Observer that she believed cops only responded properly when the stalker stole her handbag, adding: “This was something that started in 2009 with a tweet and ended in 2015 with him in my house and, I believe, with a weapon.

“I’m lucky in that I had the money and the motivation to take action myself. I want answers from the police. If they treat me like this, how the hell are they going to treat everyone else?”

Every year 700,000 women in England and Wales experience stalking, from work colleagues, former partners, acquaintances or, increasingly, strangers.

Laura Richards, of the anti-stalking charity Paladin, said: “We’ve a long way to go in recognising a crime which is, sadly, on the rise.”

Allen has had a turbulent couple of years after she was rocked by claims she had split with husband of four years Sam Cooper when he was seen out without his wedding ring.

Last summer it emerged the star had signed up for dating app Tinder and Raya, which specialises in celeb matchmaking.

She was reported to have moved out of the marital home in January after she was pictured unloading her belongings with rumoured love interest Daniel London.

The Smile singer fuelled speculation further by talking about divorce on LBC radio in February, and the importance of teaching children “the dangers of marriage.”

The couple have two daughters together, Ethel Mary aged three, and Marnie Rose, two.

The Metropolitan Police said: “Stalking and harassment are intrusive and disturbing offences which can have an extremely distressing impact on the victim. They are offences that the Metropolitan Police takes extremely seriously.

“We deal with around 20,000 allegations of harassment each year, a small percentage of which are allegations of stalking.

“The victim should be at the heart of any investigation into such allegations and kept informed of developments as this work progresses. If this is not the case then we are keen to speak to victims and learn any lessons we can to improve our investigations.”

Alex Gray was convicted this month of harassment and burglary at Harrow Crown Court and will be sentenced next month pending a psychiatric valuation.
