Kylie Minogue on marriage equality: ‘I love a wedding — just don’t make me have one’

KYLIE Minogue has been an outspoken supporter of marriage equality — and she’ll happily be first on the list to perform at the upcoming slew of same-sex marriage.

KYLIE Minogue has been a vocal supporter of marriage equality for years — and she’s fully aware she’ll be getting more than a few requests to sing at same-sex marriages are finally legal.

“That’s OK. I love a wedding. Just don’t make me have one,” the pop icon quipped in a chat with news.com.au this week.

“I’ll happily come and perform!”

We spoke to Minogue alongside Aussie actors Asher Keddie and Radha Mitchell, her co-stars in the upcoming big-screen comedy Swinging Safari. Written and directed by Stephan Elliott (Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Welcome to Woop Woop), the film is a camp, technicolour look at the decade taste forgot, and how the changing social mores of the 1970s filtered down to suburban beachside Australia (key parties, anyone?).

Kylie and her old Neighbours co-star Guy Pearce reunite to play suburban married couple in the film.

While Swinging Safari’s costume department is a dream for lovers of flammable fabrics, it’s the film’s male cast members — Guy Pearce, Julian McMahon and Jeremy Sims — who got the rawest deal, spending much of the film in a variety of testicle-crushing speedos, flares and jumpsuits.

Not that the ladies see it that way.

“All of the costumes the guys wore, they almost begged to wear. They LOVED it,” Keddie insisted.
