Kim Kardashian West looks very different in latest shoot

She’s not afraid to change up her style, and Kim Kardashian West has again experimented with her look in her latest photo shoot.

Kim Kardashian slipped on a wig and luxurious diamonds to channel late movie icon Elizabeth Taylor in a sexy new photo shoot.

The star of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which is streaming its latest season on Foxtel Now, shared photos and behind-the-scenes footage of the shoot for fashion magazine 7Hollywood late on Wednesday.

The mother of four, 39, pulled off Taylor’s signature look by wearing a black sequined dress that hugged her curves and displayed ample cleavage. She also appeared to be wearing a short wig, replicating the Hollywood icon’s glamorous brunette bob.

Kardashian teased the photos by captioning “Just wait …@manfredthierrymugler”.

The reality star listed designer Manfred Thierry Mugler as the photo shoot’s art director, and Alix Malka was listed as the director.

But the photos have already attracted criticism online, with a flurry of negative comments on 7Hollywood’s Instagram page accusing Kardashian of “blackface”.

“Awful-- who is on your editorial board,” one wrote, while another said, “Ya’ll are so wrong for this”.

Another added, “It IS NOT ok to pigment a Caucasian woman’s skin in this way and act like its normal. This isn’t cool”, while someone else wrote, “Would you please stop with the blackface”.

A source who was on set told Page Six it was the lighting that made Kardashian look darker.

“It’s the lighting that makes her look darker in this specific image,” a source said.

“There are multiple covers and images from this shoot where the lighting looks more natural. People are so quick to find the negative in everything and also often forget that she is of Armenian descent.”

It’s not the first time Kardashian has been accused of blackface.

In 2017, when she launched her KKW Beauty contour and highlight kits, she got immediate backlash for the campaign photo which showed her skin several shades darker than her natural skin tone.

“We wanted them really moody; it was really tan,” Kim said on her reality show at the time.

“I wanted to show the contour. The photos ended up being a little bit darker than I was.

“There were some people online saying I was doing blackface and the photos were inappropriate.

“The internet world is so toxic, and I feel like people are just waiting for you to make a mistake just to point out.”

In another shot from the fashion shoot, Kardashian is lying on a floor running fingers through her hair. The KKW Beauty founder flashes sultry looks into the camera.

Another frame shows the reality star wearing a bright red power suit, accessorised with a diamond choker.

Taylor, who died in 2011 at age 79 from congestive heart failure, was one of the most iconic movie stars of Hollywood’s golden era.

Earlier this month, Taylor’s former executive assistant Tim Mendelson shared that the late star’s items were still being auctioned off. Items included her personal luggage with tags labelled “Mine!” and a dress she once wore to speak before the general assembly.

Mendelson remembered Taylor as a “big kid at heart” despite her iconic movie star status.

Kardashian hinted that the Taylor-inspired photo shoot will be featured in the fashion magazine sometime in 2020.
