Kim Kardashian admits she has ‘no concept’ of what grocery staple item costs
“I have no concept …” The billionaire reality star leaned into her privilege with the frank admission she has zero clue what this kitchen staple costs.
Oh, to be a billionaire.
While many of us pace the fridge section at Coles looking for red spot specials on a carton of milk, Kim Kardashian is out here with “no concept” of what the grocery staple actually costs.
Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the US reality star was stumped listing the dollar amount of the ongoing expenses that come with her lavish celebrity life.
When asked by host Alex Cooper how much she spends on “glam” annually, the mother-of-four guessed the figure was probably “around $US1 million.”
Not being exactly aware of the seven-figure(!) amount she spends solely on hair and makeup each year, Kardashian’s next confession probably doesn’t come as a huge surprise.
“I don’t have a concept of what like certain simple things cost,” Kardashian, 44, admitted.
“I’d like to know a little bit more about what like a milk carton costs.”
According to Forbes, the entrepreneur is worth a staggering $US1.7 billion.
The average cost of a carton of milk in the US is $US1.10, roughly 0.000065 per cent of Kardashian’s wealth.
Kardashian could literally buy 1.545 billion cartons of milk until she’s broke, so it’s perhaps little wonder the price of it doesn’t register.
Elsewhere in the interview, Kardashian opened up about the difficulties of co-parenting with her ex-husband Kanye West, after the couple split following an eight-year relationship in 2021.
“There was just a lot of things that I wouldn’t deal with,” the star began.
“I didn’t like the feeling of someone talking bad about my kids, grandmother, aunts — all of those feelings.
“If someone feels that way, then we shouldn’t be together. Airing out a lot of personal stuff,” she added, referring to the moment that West revealed Kardashian had considered having an abortion the first time they got pregnant.
The Skims founder went on to say “not feeling safe emotionally and financially” also made her reconsider their marriage.
She detailed an instance where she “would come home and [they] would have five Lamborghinis” and then the next day, “they would be gone when he was in an episode”, as West had given them all away.
“You never know what you’re going to get when you wake up, and that’s a really unsettling feeling,” she said.
“Lack of stability was a big thing.”
