Killer William Balfour denies slaying Jennifer Hudson’s family
JENNIFER Hudson’s convicted killer brother-in-law has finally broken his seven-year silence to claim he “had nothing to do with” murdering her family.
JENNIFER Hudson’s convicted killer brother-in-law has finally broken his silence to claim he ‘had nothing to do with’ murdering her family.
The Sun reports that William Balfour was jailed for life after being convicted of killing the pop star’s mother, father and nephew in October 2008.
Now, speaking for the first time in seven years, Balfour claims he is innocent of the crime and is determined to find the real killer himself.
Hudson’s mother Darnell Donnerson, 57, and brother Jason, 29, were found shot to death inside their Chicago home in October 2008.
Three days later Hudson’s young nephew Julian King, 7, was also found dead with multiple gunshot wounds.
Balfour had only recently separated from Hudson’s sister Julia — the mother of Julian — when the murders took place and she was the first to discover her mother and brother’s bodies.
Although Balfour was convicted for the triple murder, he insists he played no part in them and has now vowed to find the “true killer”.
“I didn’t have nothing to do with the case and don’t know who had anything to do with the case,” Balfour told ABC News.
“Heartless, straight heartless. He isn’t got no family morals, nothing,” he replied when asked what he thought of the person who would murder seven-year-old Julian.
When asked what he would like to say to his former sister-in-law Hudson, Balfour said: “’I didn’t have nothing to do with her family being killed. Period.”
Hudson has previously told Glamour magazine about the impact the murder had on her, saying: “It’s frustrating as hell to me to have somebody who ain’t lost nothing try to talk to me about it.”
“I want to say, ‘Don’t even bother, because you know nothing.’ But you never know how much you can get through until you’re going through it.”
