Keith Urban has revealed the inspiration behind his racy track Gemini — wife Nicole Kidman.

The country music star admitted he penned the song, in which he sings about a woman who is a “maniac in bed” about his wife of more than a decade.

“The song is actually about Nicole,” Urban told British publication iNews.

But the Grammy-winner said his Big Little Lies star wife wasn’t embarrassed by the highly personal song, in which he sings about her “waking to make love in the middle of the night”.

“She loves it,” the 51-year-old added.

“It’s a fun song. My co-writer Julia Michaels asked me to describe Nicole and that’s what came out. She is Gemini but she’s not a contradiction. She can roll with things.”

In Gemini, off Urban’s 2018 album GraffitiU, he sings about the pair’s connection in an intimate way, even touching on the couple’s sex life.

“She’s a maniac in the bed

but a brainiac in her head

And I know that everybody knows

Ooh, that she’s both

Wears ahead the light of that dress

But she’s pretty even in a mess

And I know that everybody knows

Ooh, that she’s both.”

Singing abouth is Oscar-winning wife, Urban also croons:

“A little bit left, a little bit right

She’s waking to make love in the middle of the night.”

Music critics have called the maniac/brainiac line “cringy”. But Urban is no stranger to telling the world how he feels about Kidman, even if it makes his wife blush.

At the ARIAs in November, the rocker, who was hosting the awards ceremony, caused his wife to turn tomato red when he called out “Hi baby!” to the actress, who was sitting in the front row.

The couple share two children, Sunday Rose, 10, and Faith Margaret, eight.
