Katy Perry pregnancy: Singer opens up about being pregnant in isolation

Singer Katy Perry has found pregnancy in quarantine a unique challenge – admitting she often bursts into tears while completing simple tasks.

Pregnancy has been an emotional experience for Katy Perry.

The popstar appeared during Saturday's SHEIN Together livestream event, where she performed a handful of songs before opening up about having a bun in the oven.

And in her most recent Instagram post, Perry shared that her unborn daughter may be a bit of a handful - given she’s already flashing her mum her middle finger via ultrasound:

Notably, Perry, 35, discussed that it was difficult to adjust to pregnancy during the coronavirus quarantine, per E! News.

She revealed that while she had "good days," other days weren't so good.

“I cry when I look down at my toes or I cry when just doing simple tasks," Perry confessed.

“I think a lot of that is hormonal and I'm not used to being around so many people all in a confined (or) a small space for so long,” she said.

“I'm used to going (out) all the time.”

Although she's used to having some "alone time," the Never Really Over singer said she's found a way to escape without leaving her home.

“There is not really anywhere to go besides my car,” Perry said.

“So, I go to my car a lot. That is my safe space.”

The singer also offered a Mother's Day wish to all the mothers out there, expressing excitement in becoming one herself.

“Hey everyone out there, it's Katy Perry,” she said. “I want to wish all the mothers a Happy Mother's Day and I am so excited … and, I think, ready to join your club. I hope you are doing well and staying safe.”

Perry announced her pregnancy with actor fiance Orlando Bloom in early March, using her latest music video to unveil her bump.

The baby will be the first for Perry and Bloom, who were engaged last year.

The Lord of the Rings actor, 43, is already a father to 9-year-old son Flynn, whom he shares with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.

The singer recently opened up about her wedding prep with Stellar Magazine, describing herself as “a bridechilla as opposed to a bridezilla.”

“Orlando and I are united with our approach,” Perry explained.

“It’s not about the party, it’s about the coming together of people who will hold us accountable when things get really hard. Those are just the facts when you’re with someone who challenges you to be your best self.”

The couple met and began dating after bonding at the Golden Globe Awards in 2016.
