LIKE a storyline directly from her NBC show, married star Katharine McPhee has been pictured kissing her Smash director Michael Morris - who is also married.

According to TMZ, Morris is married to actress Mary McCormack, with whom he has three young daughters aged two, six and nine.

McPhee, 29, married 47-year-old producer Nick Cokas in 2008, but according to the gossip site, the pair separated six months ago and have been living apart.

The site reports, "Over the weekend he [Michael] was sucking face with Katherine in broad daylight in LA, like he didn't care who saw."

Musical drama Smash was cancelled by NBC after two seasons, and its final show was screened in June.

Incidentally on the show McPhee's character Karen Cartwright has a fling with her show director Derek Wills, played by Jack Davenport.
