Kate Moss says she was pressured into posing topless as a teenager
NINETIES supermodel Kate Moss says she was pressured into posing topless while she was still a teenager and has urged young models - including her 15-year-old daughter - against it.
KATE Moss has revealed she was pressured into posing topless as a teenager.
The ’90s supermodel was speaking about her early years as a model on Megyn Kelly Today when she revealed she was intimidated into taking her top off.
The show’s host asked Moss whether she ever felt pressure to be photographed topless.
“Yes, there was pressure,” Moss, now 44, answered.
She added: “I worked with a woman photographer called Corinne Day and she always liked me with no top on and I did not like it at all when I first started.”
Moss, who last year posted naked in W Magazine’s special Powerful Women issue, said she would never allow her only daughter Lila Grace to pose topless and urged young models to do only what they are comfortable with.
“They don’t have to do it if they don’t want to do it,” she said.
“I wouldn’t let my daughter do it. I look at her now and she’s 15, and to think that I was going topless at her age is crazy.”
Lila Grace scored her own ad campaign last year, becoming the newest face of UK hair brand Braid Bar.
Moss said she supports her daughter if she chooses to further her career in modelling.
“I will support her obviously. I’ll be her manager,” Moss said.
Megyn added: “Her momager?”
“Yes, I’ll be her momager,” Kate said.
“If she wants to, I’ll support her in anything she wants to do.”
She also looked back at her iconic Calvin Klein’s Obsession campaign, shot by her then boyfriend Mario Sorrenti in 1993 when she was just 18.
“Mario was my boyfriend so I was kind of used to it but I was still always like, ‘Can I just put some clothes on?’, Kate said.
“But that was the job so I kind of just did it.”
