RUMOURS are swirling that actor Kate Hudson and her rock star fiancee Matt Bellamy are on the rocks.
The New York Daily News is reporting that the couple, who have been engaged for almost three years, have recently drifted apart due to spending much time apart, and busy work schedules.
Bellamy mostly lives in London to be close to his Muse band mates, while Hudson spends most of her time in Los Angeles, and the two have not been photographed together in several months.
“Matt is pretty down-to-earth and happy in England, while Kate is very LA-focused,” said a source close to the couple. “They are leading separate lives. It hasn’t been working out the way they planned and they’ve been trying very hard for the sake of their son.”
Hudson and Bellamy have been together since 2010, and were engaged in 2011, the same year their son, Bingham Hawn Bellamy, was born.
Hudson has another son, 10-year-old Ryder, from her marriage to Black Crowes rocker Chris Robinson, whom she divorced in 2006 after six years of marriage.
Speaking on US television recently, Hudson was asked if she was planning a “big wedding”.
“No, I’m planning nothing right now. I’m so busy, we’ve been so busy, and it’s been great. I come from an unconventional family. ... My parents aren’t married,” Hudson said, referring to her mother Goldie Hawn and her longtime partner, Kurt Russell.
“And it’s a lot. Planning a wedding is a lot!” Hudson continued. “I mean, I did a movie (Bride Wars) about planning a wedding and that was a lot, let alone actually planning a wedding!
So, no. Not anytime soon, no.”
Hudson currently has three films in production and is due to start shooting the indie comedy Rock the Kasbah with Shia LaBeouf, Bruce Willis, Bill Murray and Zooey Deschanel in the coming months.
Bellamy also has a hectic touring schedule with Muse, with major shows scheduled in Brazil and at the Coachella festival in April.
Responding to the rumours, a rep for Hudson said “it isn’t true.”
