Kate Ceberano says she was kicked out of Qantas Club Lounge
KATE Ceberano has taken a stab at Qantas, claiming that staff kicked her out of its lounge for inappropriate clothing.
KATE Ceberano has taken a stab at Qantas, claiming that staff kicked her out of its lounge for inappropriate clothing.
The Aussie singer was travelling to Brisbane ahead of her appearance at the Caloundra Music Festival, wearing a pair of open-toe sandals.
“Disappointed to be evicted from the Qantas Lounge after being a member since 1990 for wearing ‘inappropriate footwear’? hahaha (new rules),” the 48-year-old wrote on her Facebook page overnight.
The Qantas Domestic Lounge Dress Guidelines specifies in its dress code that thongs and bare feet are a breach of its rules. Gym wear, boardshorts, Ugg boots, revealing, unclean and torn clothing are also not permitted.
“These guidelines are intended to create an environment that everyone can enjoy and we look forward to welcoming you into our lounges soon,” the website states.
But Ceberano fans are sticking behind her, calling on the airline to apologise to the Bedroom Eyes singer.
It seems Ceberano can’t catch a break at the moment. The run-in with Qantas follows her performance at the AFL grand final on Saturday where she forgot a word while singing the national anthem in front of a crowd of 100,000 at the MCG, and many more on television.
Ceberano appeared to sing: “In history’s stage, let every stage, Advance Australia Fair.” The correct lyric is “In history’s page, let every stage, Advance Australia Fair.”
