KANYE West will not be released from hospital today as planned because he has not recovered from his psychotic episode.

TMZ reports that the star will not be leaving UCLA Medical Centre as he is “not stable”.

Sources close to the star told the news outlet the plan had been for his “personal doctor to take charge of him upon release,” which was slated for today.

They added: “We’re now told Kanye is still not stable and will not be released today. In fact, there is now no release date set, because he has not recovered from his breakdown a week ago.”

TMZ also reported that Kanye has been suffering extreme paranoia and at one point wouldn’t let doctors touch him at the medical centre.

West was reportedly “having nightmares” about his wife Kim Kardashian’s Paris robbery in the weeks before he was hospitalised for exhaustion, according to US Weekly.

A source close to the singer told the magazine that “he’s been shaken up ever since the robbery in Paris.”

The source said: “It did a number on him as much as Kim. The mere thought that anything could happen to her sent him in a tailspin. He wasn’t sleeping and he was having nightmares about it.”

In late October, Kardashian was tied up, threatened with a gun and robbed of millions of dollars worth of jewellery by armed and masked assailants.

Thieves stole a jewellery box containing valuables worth nearly $US7 million ($9.3 million) including a ring worth $US4.5 million ($6 million), which Kardashian has flaunted on Instagram.

West was admitted to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Centre on November 21 after an incident at his personal trainer’s home in Los Angeles.

TMZ reported that West was behaving “erratically” and was “handcuffed to a [stretcher] during the transport to the hospital.”

West has been in hospital since early last week after his personal doctor called emergency services to report he was suffering from a reported mental breakdown.
