Julia Roberts gushes over ‘anchor’ Danny Moder in rare comments about husband

The notoriously private megastar has gushed over her husband, Danny Moder, in a rare insight into their 20-year marriage.

Julia Roberts is Danny Moder’s No. 1 fan.

The actress credited her husband with holding their family together while making rare comments about their marriage on the US Today show, repots Page Six.

“It all starts with Danny Moder, you know?” Roberts told Hoda Kotb during her interview on Monday with Leave The World Behind co-star Mahershala Ali.

“He’s just really our anchor and our person,” she gushed. “And in the most beautiful way, [he’s] the captain of our ship. Truly.”

However, the Pretty Woman star, who shares three kids with Moder, joked that she doesn’t give her partner all the credit.

“[I’m] not, like, giving it all away,” she clarified. “It’s just that for me, understanding how deeply felt life could be really started with him.”

The actress and Moder, 54, met in 2000 on the set of The Mexican.

At the time, Moder was married to Vera Steimberg, while Roberts was dating Benjamin Bratt. After their respective splits, the duo tied the knot in July 2002.

The couple went on to welcome twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, now 19, in 2004, followed by son Henry, now 16, in 2007.

Roberts celebrated 21 years of marriage to Moder in July with a sweet post about the Emmy-nominated cinematographer.

One year prior, she honoured two decades with her husband by posting a sweet kissing photo of the pair via Instagram.

“TWENTY #can’tstopsmiling#can’tstopkissing,” she captioned the PDA pic in July 2022.

Moder also took to social media at the time to pay tribute to their love, writing, “Today we start our 20th year of marriage.

“This photo was on a dusty road before that big idea … just holding on to this beautiful girl one day at a time,” he continued. “One epic day at a time.”

While the couple primarily keep their relationship out of the spotlight, Roberts has referred to their love story as a “dream come true.”

“When I’m not working, [being a homemaker] is my full-time job,” she said on CBS This Morning in October 2022. “It isn’t rainbows and kittens every day, but it does bring me a lot of joy.

“The life that I have built with my husband, [and] the life that we’ve built with our children, that’s the best stuff. To come home at the end of the day, triumphantly, to them.”
