Johnny Depp’s explosive texts about Amber Heard laid bare in libel case

Bombshell texts sent by Johnny Depp to his doctor during his infamous trip to Australia in 2015 have been read out in court.

Text messages from Johnny Depp branding his former wife Amber Heard a “malicious, evil and vindictive c**t” who had “acquired” him because she was “so desperate for success and fame” have been exposed in a London court.

The Fantastic Beasts star sent several texts to his doctor blasting Heard after severing his finger during an infamous blow-up in Australia in March 2015, the court heard.

They were read out in court on Tuesday, as Depp’s lawsuit against the publisher and executive editor of Britain’s The Sun* newspaper continued over a 2018 story branding him a “wife beater”.

In the series of messages, Depp told Dr David Kipper that Heard had called him a “sad old man” and a “has been”, and described “hideously and purposely hurtful tirades and her goddamn shocking treatment of the man she was meant to love”.

“I just cannot live like this … She is as full of s**t as a Christmas goose. I'm done. NO MORE …!!! The constant insults, the demeaning, belittling, most heartbreaking spew that is only released from a malicious, evil and vindictive c**t!!!!!” one of the messages said.

“But, you know what … ? FAR MORE hurtful than her venomous and degrading, endless 'educational' ranting …??? Is her hideously and purposely hurtful tirades and her goddamn shocking treatment of the man she was meant to love, above all …

“Here's the real deal, mate … Her obsession with herself..? Is far more important … She is SO F***IN' AMBITIOUS!!! She's so desperate for success and fame … That's probably why I was acquired, mate …! Although, she has hammered me with what a sad old man, has been I am …”

In another message read in court, Depp then addressed the severed finger incident, which at the time was blamed on an accident while slicing onions.

“Cowan (Dr Connell Cowan, another doctor) has done me the most cruel of favours … I'm so very sad … I cut the top of my middle finger off … What should I do!? Except, of course, go to a hospital … I'm so embarrassed for jumping into anything with her …”

Depp’s former bodyguard, Malcolm Connolly, also testified on Tuesday, claiming that the actor had told him Heard had “cut my f**king finger off” after smashing his hand with a vodka bottle and stubbing a cigarette on his face during the explosive argument in Australia in 2015.

Mr Connolly claimed Depp was in “emotional distress and panicking” after the incident, which is one of 14 allegations of violent behaviour Heard has made against her ex-husband and which are being examined as part of his libel case.

Depp has firmly denied ever physically assaulting Heard.

The bodyguard told the court he was sent to help ease the situation after receiving an urgent call from the head of Depp’s security team, Jerry Judge, who told him that he needed to “get in the car, extract the boss (Depp) from the situation” – and that when he arrived at the property around 1.30pm, he could “hear the ruckus inside”.

“(Depp and Amber) were screaming at each other,” Mr Connolly told the court.

“I shouted at Johnny words to the effect of ‘come with me, you are coming with me’. It wasn’t easy, but I did get him outside.

“Amber appeared at the door and then came close to the car, screaming and crying, calling out words along the lines of, ‘are you just going to leave it like this, you f**king coward?’ Then she was saying, ‘I love you, I love you. Is this how you are going to end this?’”

He added that she was “not making a lot of sense”.

“One second she was begging Johnny not to leave the house and then she was screaming at him for running away,” he recalled.

“She was absolutely hysterical. I was worried she might start throwing objects at Johnny, or at myself, as I had seen her throw objects before.”

According to Mr Connolly, Depp had shown him his injuries, including a mark on his face from the alleged cigarette burn.

He added that Heard’s account of the blow-up bore “no resemblance” to his recollection, and that she “did not have any marks on her face or arms” when he arrived at the scene.
