Photos showing Johnny Depp passed out covered in food and his “whisky and cocaine” breakfast have been shown during another explosive day in court.

Johnny Depp had his finger severed by ex-wife

A series of codewords, including “whitey stuff,” that Johnny Depp used to try and score drugs in Australia have been revealed in court as part of the bitter defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

It was during the couple’s infamous trip to Australia in 2015 that they smuggled their dogs Pistol and Boo into the country, for which they later had to publicly apologise.

The Virginia court heard Depp admit to smoking cannabis and looking into obtaining ecstasy and cocaine while in Australia. But the actor said there was no evidence he actually took either drug during the visit where he was filming Pirates of the Caribbean.

The court also heard revelations about allegedly violent incidents and explosive texts sent by Depp, that he had a “sobriety nurse” to keep him on the wagon while filming and that Heard allegedly put out a cigarette on his face.

Depp is suing Heard for US$50 million ($A67m) over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed in which she wrote about being a victim of domestic abuse. She did not name Depp in the piece, but he claims the allegations are clearly directed at him because Heard filed for divorce and a restraining order alleging that he physically abused her two years earlier. Depp says the allegations are false and cost him lucrative film work in Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Heard has countersued for $100 million ($A134m), claiming she suffered “rampant physical violence and abuse” at his hands.

Amber Heard snapped the embarrassing shot of Johnny Depp when they were in Boston and he was filming “Black Mass.”

“Do you recognize this picture as being one of you?” Heard’s attorney Ben Rottenborn asked Depp.

“Yes, Ms. Heard kindly showed it to me the day after she took it,” he replied. He told the juror he had just worked a 17-hour day and had taken roxycodone. He said that Heard intentionally asked him to hold the ice cream knowing that he was going to fall asleep and drop it.

“That was a wonderful picture to take for her,” Depp said sarcastically.

Jurors Thursday were shown a photo taken in Amber Heard’s house in Los Angeles in March 2013 one morning after Johnny Depp fell off the wagon.

The image shows two glasses of whiskey and four lines of cocaine next to a box with a skull and crossbones and Depp’s initials on it.

“You’d sometimes drink whiskey in the morning?” asked Heard’s attorney Ben Rottenborn during cross-examination.

“Isn’t happy hour any time?” replied Depp, prompting a few awkward laughs in the Virginia courtroom.

Depp initially denied using the pictured box for cocaine. But Rottenborn confronted him with testimony from his 2020 libel trial against “The Sun” newspaper for branding him a wife beater, when he admitted to using the box to carry cocaine.

Depp later lost the London case.

Disturbing video shows Depp’s rampage

Video evidence presrnted by Heard’s attorney shows Depp slamming cabinets in a fit of rage during one angry outburst.

“I did assault a couple of cabinets, but I didn’t touch Miss Heard,” Depp said of the video, adding that “there’s a possibility” he was drunk at the time.

Depp used his sliced finger tip to scrawl messages on the mirror of a home he was renting in Australia after he and ex-wife Amber Heard had a major blow up in 2015.

“Starring Billy Bob and Easy Amber,” Depp wrote on a mirror in a mixture of paint and blood. Heard had just arrived in Australia after filming the widely panned film “London Fields” with Billy Bob Thornton.

Depp also scribbled a message on an overturned lampshade.

“You write in some mixture of blood and paint ‘GOOD LUCK AND BE CAREFUL AT TOP’?” asked Heard’s lawyer Ben Rottenborn.

“Correct, I thought it was good advice,” quipped Depp. There was no audible laughter in the courtroom.

Depp was confronted with a series of text messages that show he may have bought cocaine from rocker Marilyn Manson’s assistant.

The actor and Manson, whose given name is Brian Warner, had partied together in 2015 in Australia.

Depp texted his personal assistant Nathan Holmes, “Have you heard from Manson’s Ryan?”

Holmes reply was not read, but Depp responded February 26, 2015,” “Yes, and yes, and of course, yes, please, and you will pay Ryan for it?…we should have more happy pills!!!?? Can you!!”

Two days later, Depp emailed another assistant that “Manson gave you a wee package for me? Where does it reside?”

In direct testimony, Depp claimed that he had been sober for 18 months before he and his ex-wife Amber Heard had a massive blow up in Australia while he was filming Pirates of the Caribbean” on March 7, 2015.

But the email and text messages introduced during cross-examination suggest that he was using drugs prior to the vicious brawl that left Depp missing a piece of his middle right finger.

Depp testified that Heard hurled a vodka bottle at him, slicing off the digit -- an allegation she has denied.

‘Let’s burn Amber’

Depp was presented with several damning text messages that he sent to Heard, friends and associates during the couple’s relationship.

“Let’s burn Amber,” read one text sent by Depp to his friend Paul Bettany on June 11, 2013.

“Let’s drown her before we burn her.

“I will f**k her burnt corpse afterwards to make sure she’s dead”.

In a separate text sent on January 17, 2013, Depp wrote a text in which he described Heard as an “idiot cow”.

“I’ll smack the ugle c**t around before I let her in, dont worry,” it continued.

“Did that worthless hooker arrive?”

The text exhibits kept on coming. In a message sent on December 18, 2014, Depp described himself in a message to Heard as “a f***ing savage”, the court heard.

“I always regret it when I jump, or worse, when you jump. I’m sorry for being less, for your diappointmet in me. For my behaviour,” it read.

“I’m a f***ing savage. Gotta lose that. Gonna’ lose that. The devil is all around, right?”

In another, Depp wrote of Heard that he “never want(s) to lay eyes on that filthy wh**e again”, while they were still married.

Heard’s lawyer then read a message Depp had sent an acquaintance after he “got drunk and destroyed my (hotel) room”.

“There are hookers and animals in here,” it read.

“Is it okay to put on a condom after the fact, I mean if I just wear it for the rest of the day, like that works doesn’t it?

“I’ve had to kill a few of the animals for sustenance. I’ve made quite a mess. There’s blood and animal tracks everywhere.”

Elton John emerged as a surprise confidante to Depp in texts read in court.

Several big names were pulled into the case, including Elton John, Marilyn Manson and James Franco, on Thursday.

The court heard that Depp sent John a text message in which he described part of himself as a “monster” who “would have swallowed (him up) if it wasn’t for you”. Depp said Elton was a “friend’ who had supported him in his quest for sobriety.

Heard’s lawyer then put it to Depp that he had taken illegal drugs with Marilyn Manson.

Depp testified that the pair had done cocaine together then fessed up to drugging Manson with “a pill” to try and “stop him talking”. The star laughed on the stand as he recalled the incident.

He also admitted, under cross examination, that he believed during his marriage to Heard that she was having an affair with James Franco.

Franco, 43, will be grilled about whether he had an affair with Heard, as part of the suit.

Page Six previously reported that Depp sent a subpoena to Franco after 2016 surveillance video showed him getting into an elevator with Heard a day after she had a fight with Depp. Heard later alleged Depp gave her a black eye during the altercation.

During cross examination on Thursday, it also emerged that Depp had described the mother of his children, Vanessa Paradis, as a “French extortionist” and an “ex-c*nt” in a text message.

“On the other side of the coin, my kids have fallen head over heels in deep love with Amber, my girl, and that pressure is off my shoulders, is f**king gone, that is until the French extortionist ex c*** attempts to brainwash them against her, which I’m sure is imminent,” Depp wrote in a text to Elton John.

Heard’s attorney Ben Rottenborn asked Depp if he was referring to the mother of his two children, Vanessa Paradis, to which he replied, “Yes.”

Depp and Heard in Australia

Part of the day’s court proceedings heard about Depp and Heard’s 2015 trip to Australia where he was filming Pirates of the Caribbean.

Depp told jurors that while in Australia in 2015, after Heard allegedly threw a vodka bottle at him, severing the top part of his finger, she put out a cigarette on his face.

“Ms Heard had taken my cigarette from the ashtray and stomped it out in my face,” Depp claimed, as his lawyers showed the panel photos of his injuries.

Depp, 58, said he used what remained of his middle right finger to scrawl messages on the wall.

“In the midst of being in a nervous breakdown, I started to write in my own blood on the walls,” he testified. “Little reminders from our past that essentially represented lies that [Heard] told me, lies that I had caught her in.”

Heard has denied injuring Depp’s finger and previously accused him of viciously attacking her on the trip.

‘Need more whitey stuff’: Drug use in Australia

In the court, Depp agreed that he had take cannabis in Australia and inquired about obtaining cocaine and ecstasy.

He was quizzed over a text he had sent to an associate where he said: “need more whitey stuff ASAP brother man, and the E business please. I’m in bad, bad shape. Say nothing to nobody”.

Depp agreed he did sent that text but that didn’t mean he had actually taken cocaine.

The text occurred on March 7, 2015, just after his finger had been cut.

“Clearly whitey stuff is a reference to cocaine. But there’s nothing to say I ingested it.”

He also said that while he had tried to get hold of the drug ecstasy, which he referred to in texts as “ecstatic,” that was for Heard's use rather than his own.

“Before Ms Heard arrived (in Australia) she has asked me to score either MDMA or ecstasy tablets”.
