Johnny Depp slammed for his ‘compulsive spending disorder’

A NEW court battle has exposed claims that Johnny Depp suffers from “compulsive spending disorder” and spends millions every month on extravagances.

Johnny Depp Blames Former Managers For $40M Debt

JOHNNY Depp needs to be examined by a doctor for “compulsive spending disorder,” according to fresh court claims from his former business management company.

The tab for the Pirates of the Caribbean star’s extravagances was running at more than $2.66 million a month — way more than Depp could afford — before he fired the firm, TMG, in March 2016, according to court papers filed Monday.

Depp preferred to spend his cash on “everything other than the timely payment of his taxes,” according to the suit, alleging that Depp spent $99.6 million to maintain and furnish 14 residences including a chain of islands in the Bahamas and a horse farm in Kentucky.

That’s not to mention the upkeep on 45 luxury vehicles and a bill of $40,000 per month on wines from around the world.

“Wine is not an investment if you drink it as soon as you buy it,” the complaint notes.

Depp is just the latest Hollywood star accusing his managers of malpractice. Back in 2009, Nicolas Cage famously accused his manager of financially ruining him.

Lawyers for TMG want the court to allow them to examine Depp, they said in a new filing on Monday. They parted ways a little over a year ago, with Depp complaining that the firm had kept him in the dark about his finances.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal last month, Depp defended his huge spending, saying: “If I want to buy 15,000 cotton balls a day, it’s my thing.”

“Depp’s flagrant bragging about his senseless and extreme spending to the Wall Street Journal is further evidence of his psychological issues,” the lawsuit states. “It appears that Depp may suffer from a compulsive spending disorder, which will be proven in this action through a mental examination.”

Elsewhere, TMG’s suit claims that Depp paid a sound engineer to feed him lines in movies. “Depp insisted that this sound engineer be kept on yearly retainer so that he no longer has to memorise his lines.”

The fallout with the management firm began when one of Depp’s homes fell into foreclosure. The Tinseltown firm said it lent him $6.6 million to help him avoid poor publicity — a loan he hasn’t paid back, according to the suit.

The amended cross-complaint is aimed at winning declaratory relief and breach of oral contract, breach of implied contract and breach of written contract and promissory fraud.
