Jessica Marais will no longer appear on the revived Packed to the Rafters series, with her management team citing “personal reasons” as her reason for stepping away from the gig.

It comes after the actor quit her role on Channel 9’s Bad Mothers amid concerns for her health in 2018.

Today, Marais’s management revealed she would be stepping back from the newly titled Back to the Rafters – her first television role since The Wrong Girl wrapped in 2017.

“Jessica Marais has decided to step away from the new series Back to the Rafters for personal reasons,” the statement read.

“She thanks everyone involved on the show for their ongoing support and love, especially her ‘Rafter’s family’, and sends them her very best wishes for the production.”

In 2018, her statement announcing her decision to step away from another series similarly read: “She is disappointed that she will not be a part of the Bad Mothers production with such an incredible cast and team behind it, but knows that it is important to take time out to maintain ongoing balance and wellbeing.”

It was then announced she was to cease acting for the rest of the year.

Health issues also saw Marais pull out of attending the Logies in July 2018 even though she was nominated for the Gold Logie.

The Wrong Girl and Love Child star was admitted to The Sydney Clinic at Bronte in early June that same year, The Sunday Telegraph reported.

According to the facility’s website, the clinic specialises in treating issues such as depression, mood disorders and addictions.

According to her IMDB page, a film Marais acted in last year, Emu Plains, is in post-production.

The Wrong Girl star also has a daughter Scout, 6, with ex-fiance James Stewart. The pair, who met on the set of Packed To The Rafters, dated for five years before splitting in 2015.

The return of the Aussie family drama, Back to the Rafters, was announced in December, with the full cast expected to reprise their roles.

Filming was due to start early this year.

An Amazon spokesperson told news.com.au: “Seven Studios and Amazon would like to sincerely thank Jessica for her work to date on Back to the Rafters and we fully support Jessica’s decision.”
