Jennifer Lawrence reveals truth about Liam Hemsworth ‘affair’
The actress has finally addressed longstanding rumours that she had a fling with her Hunger Games co-star while he was dating Miley Cyrus.
Jennifer Lawrence has finally set the record straight regarding longstanding rumours that she had an affair with former co-star Liam Hemsworth while he was dating Miley Cyrus.
Speculation about the alleged fling heightened earlier this year following the release of Cyrus’ Flowers music video, in which she alluded to the break-up and wore a golden Saint Laurent dress similar to the gown Lawrence wore to the Hunger Games premiere with Hemsworth in 2012.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen this week, the host asked the actress point-blank whether there was any truth to the rumours.
“Not true,” Lawrence insisted.
“Total rumour. We all know we only kissed one time, and it was years after they broke up, so I just assumed that (the dress) was a coincidence.”
She added that it was upsetting seeing the rumours circulating about her and her co-star.
“If five people at a party think you slept with somebody’s boyfriend, it’s really upsetting,” Lawrence said.
“And then you multiply it by – I’m not good at the math – eight billion.”
While appearing on the same show back in 2015, Lawrence had confessed to sharing an off-screen kiss with Hemsworth, but didn’t specify a timeline.
“Liam and I grew up together. Liam’s real hot. What would you have done?” she joked at the time.
Hemsworth and Lawrence filmed the four movies within TheHunger Games franchise between 2012 and 2015.
The Australian actor was in a relationship with Cyrus for most of that time, dating on-and-off between 2010 until late 2018, when they tied the knot in a surprise wedding.
The couple broke up for good the following year and finalised their divorce in 2020.
