Jamie Foxx is “still not himself” after suffering a mysterious “medical complication” in April.

According to a Page Six report, the Oscar and Grammy winner reportedly remains slow to recover amid his ongoing health scare – though no exact details about his condition have been released at this time.

“He is getting the best care and working hard to recover right now, but he is still not himself,” a source told People. “He has the tightest circle around him.”

The health update comes just hours after the actor’s They Cloned Tyrone co-star John Boyega revealed the 55-year-old “finally picked up” the phone after many attempts at reaching him.

“He finally picked up the phone. Thank you, bro,” the Star Wars actor told People at the Hollywood premiere of his and Foxx’s new film, They Cloned Tyrone, on Tuesday.

“He’s doing well. And then, you know, we [are] just giving him the privacy, and we can’t wait for his return,” Boyega, 31, shared.

“I gave him the well-wishes directly. I gave him all the well-wishes. So I’m just gonna be waiting until he comes back out here. So take your time, Jamie. We love you, bro.”

Datari Turner, who co-produced the film with Foxx, also spoke out about Foxx’s road to recovery, saying the Blame It hitmaker expects to be in front of the cameras again soon.

“He’s doing amazing. I promise you. Doing really, really good,” Turner shared.

“[Our director] Juel [Taylor] talked to him yesterday. John Boyega talked to him yesterday. He’s in really, really good shape and spirits. And he’ll be back on the screen. He’ll be back to work very soon.”

While those close to Foxx have remained tight-lipped on what exactly caused him to be hospitalised, his daughter Corinne Foxx revealed in April that her famous dad fell ill in the middle of production on his upcoming movie Back in Action.

After mass speculation, Jamie’s team shut down a conspiracy theory that the COVID-19 vaccine gave him blood clots.

The Oscar winner did, however, publicly speak out via Instagram in May to thank his fans for “all the love”, adding that he felt “blessed”.

Foxx’s pal Nick Cannon has also been issuing updates on his friend’s health, saying he will speak “when he’s ready”.

“I believe when he’s ready, he’s going to address the awaiting fans in the world [about his health scare] the way that only he can,” the father of 12 said.
