Jada Pinkett Smith reveals she’s in a ’non-sexual throuple’
Will and Jada Smith are reportedly in a “non-sexual throuple” with his ex-wife, according to the actress.
Leave it to Jada Pinkett Smith to open the book on her marriage (literally).
On Monday, the newest episode of Red Table Talk hit Facebook Watch, and it features an in-depth discussion about unconventional relationships, including “throuples”.
While discussing with her daughter, Willow Smith, and mother, Adrienne Banfield Norris, Pinkett Smith revealed she’s actually been in “a non-sexual throuple for years” with Sheree Zampino, Will Smith’s ex-wife.
“When you have your husband that is taking care of another woman and spending time with another woman, it’s the same thing,” explained the Red Table Talk host.
In the latest episode, the Smith women interviewed a British throuple (two women and one man) about their happy relationship. But first, the hosts discussed “polyamory” among themselves in a discussion that thoroughly embarrassed “Gammy” Banfield Norris.
After 18-year-old Smith said she understood the appeal of non-monogamy — “There are so many different kinds of people in this world, and so many things to learn … I don’t see the benefit in not learning those things,” she said — her mother explained she also had experience with unconventional relationships.
“You know why it’s so interesting, though? said Pinkett Smith. “Why it’s not so foreign for me, too, is that I’ve had a non-sexual throuple for years with Sheree.”
A photo of Pinkett Smith, Will Smith, and Zampino smiling happily popped up as she continued speaking. “When you have your husband that is taking care of another woman and spending time with another woman, it’s the same thing,” she added.
“And that’s what I said when you asked me, did I feel like you could love more than one person at a time, absolutely,” agreed Gammy. “Because I know that Will loves Sheree. I know that Rodney (her husband) loves his daughter’s mothers. So, yeah, absolutely. But I just expect their relationship to be different. And that love to be different.”
The newest episode of Red Table Talk, “Unconventional Relationships: Can Multiple Partners Work?”, is available to stream on Facebook Watch.
